Heidi's Bonus Sketch at 2sketches4you

Here is a card that I finally had time to complete. I had this idea in my head for a good two weeks before I had a chance to get it made into a card. I love this little owl set and when I saw Heidi Van Laar's card a couple of weeks ago on 2sketches4you, I knew I had to make a card with her sketch and this stamp set. Everything except the green ribbon tag are from Stampin' Up!. The ribbon came from my ribbon scrap jar. I use the MCPT to color in the little owls and the branch.

Shadow box frame

Here is a gift that I gave my parents for Christmas. It is a shadowbox frame that I found at Hobby Lobby. some of the places where photos can go are recessed like a shadow box. I used a tutorial that I found HERE to make the flowers. They are cut with the cricut and Accent Essentials cartridge. The vines are on the Home Accents cartridge. The patterned paper is out of a Prima stack I found at Michaels and the Cardstock that I cut the flowers and vines out of is from Stampin' Up!. I used some rub-ons in my stash and there was no brand on the package, so I am not sure who makes them.
Sorry about the glare and blurriness in some of the photo's, I haven't quite figured out how to take good photo's through glass.

Kazan's Sketch 16 at 2sketches4you

I hope that you all have had a wonderful holiday. I was finally able to get a little time today to create a card for Kazan's sketch #16 at 2sketches4you. I love these little penguins that I cut on my cricut machine and the ZooBalloo cartridge. I used some of my Bazzill cardstock stash for the penguins and scallops. The pearlescent turquoise background cardstock is from Wausau papers and is also cut with the Zooballoo cartridge. The patterned paper and ribbon are out of my scraps. The "happy" and "winter" stamps are from Stampin' Up!

Happy Holidays To All and Neighbor Gifts I Made....

I would like to take a moment and wish you all a Happy Holiday season and I hope that they are merry and bright and that you will all be surrounded by the ones you love.

Here are a couple of things that I made and took to the neighbors. I was watching a local show and saw how easy it was to make these cute little mice (I made 75 of them in just a couple of hours). They have been a huge hit and everyone loves them. You can find the instructions and a video of the local show HERE. The packaging is from the craft store in the wedding aisle....they are little cake boxes that I added a band to them. I cut the label with my cricut and the Storybook cartridge. I also roasted some pecans with cinnamon and sugar and packaged them in clear bags with a cute little tag that I used an older Stampin' Up! set on and the tag punches.

I have other things that I have been working on as gifts, but I will post them later (I don't want to give them away to the receivers). I also want to get the card done on the 2sketches4you website this week. BTW *toot toot* I made the COTW (card of the week) last week with my Friendship card that I had posted previously for Laura's card sketch #15.

Laura's Sketch 15 at 2sketches4you

Here is my card for the challenge over at 2sketches4you. This week it is Laura's turn to create a sketch and above is my take on it. I am challenging myself to use supplies that I have and have either forgotten about or don't use very much. For this card I used a pigment ink and white embossing powder for the snowflakes and the sentiment. It was fun pulling out these supplies that I rarely use and giving them some use.

Recipe:
Cardstock, patterned paper, stamps, ink, embossing powder: Stampin' Up!
Ribbon: from a spool I picked up at Michael's
Jewels: Creating Keepsakes

2009 Sous Chef for Apronstrings Designs

WooHoo!! I am going to be on the design team for Apronstrings Designs for the year 2009. I had so much fun designing pages for them in the 2008 year and I am super excited to get the chance to design pages for them again into 2009. I will be joining a wonderful team of other designers and I can't wait to see the awesome pages done in the upcoming year. I just received my December kit and I love all the papers and embellies that came with it. If you have a chance, go and check out their kits (in 2 different sizes). There is no commitment and you can skip any month you want without penalty. They also have a monthly card kit for those that just create cards. I also love to visit their yahoo message board. They have challenges going on throughout the year for you to get more pages done and they also give out awesome cookie jar treats (scrapping goodies) to ship with your monthly kit. So be sure to visit them at apronstringsdesigns.com.

Winter Themed Lunchbox Tin

At the first of the 2008 year on the cricut message board, I joined a public pal swap group. It was fun getting to know the person that you were swapping gifts with throughout the year. I want to thank LynO from the cricut message board for being a great public pal. This is a tin that I sent in her last package for the year. I had lots of fun making it and tried out a few new things like embossing the cardstock before adhering it to the tin. I painted on the raised surface of the cardstock with white paint to help the snowflakes stand out and I love the results. I also used a little bit of a glitter glaze on the snowflake embossed cardstock to give it a little bit of sparkle. To get the cardstock around the hardware on the lid, I created a template from a piece of scratch paper by marking with a pencil where there needed to be cuts, I cut out the pattern and then I traced the pattern on the back of the embossed cardstock.

Recipe:
Lunchbox tin: Provo Craft
Cardstock, Ribbons, Patterned paper: Stampin' Up!
Paint and glitter glaze: Making Memories
Die Cuts: Cricut machine and Accent Essentials cartridge by Provo Craft
Embossing: Cuttlebug by Provo Craft
Adhesive: Mod podge by Plaid

I hope that your holiday season is bright and merry!!

Candy Bar Surprise - Kazan's Sketch 15 at 2sketches4you

I finally had a chance this week to create a card with the sketch this week at 2sketches4you. I used the tutorial on Kazan's blog to make this card that has a candy bar that pulls up when you pull on the ribbon for a surprising treat. I had been wanting to try one of these and it is really quite easy. You can find the simple tutorial on Kazan's blog. I created this one for my niece......her birthday is on Monday and I thought that this would be a delightful treat to go along with her present this year.

Recipe:
Cardstock, stamps, and ribbon: Stampin' Up!
Patterned Paper: Die Cuts With a View
Glitter: Stickles glitter glue by Ranger
Scallop circle punch: Stampin' Up!

I really like the bonus sketch by Heidi on the 2sketches4you website this week, but time in my week didn't allow it.....but I do have an idea of how I want to use it, so maybe later I can use the sketch and post it here.

Laura's Sketch 14 at 2sketches4you

Here is my card based on the card this week over at 2sketches4you. I am trying to get all my Christmas cards done and I just love these sketches because it makes it easy to come up with ideas and I love the way they turn out. Everything except the thread and the little jewel and in the middle of the heart are from Stampin' Up!. The little jewel is from a Creating Keepsakes kit that I bought from QVC.
