All Things Grow With Love - Top 20 Card at 2s4y

It took me a little while to pick myself up off the floor on Sunday when I saw that my A Perfect Pair card had been chosen to continue on into the top 20 finalists at 2 Sketches 4 You in their 1st Annual Ultimate Card Showdown. I would like to tell the judges - Thanks so much!! I would like to congratulate the other top 20 finalists, too...their work is fantastic and if you get a chance, hop on over and check out their work in the 2s4y blog. I would also like to let those whose cards didn’t make it through to this round know that I think they all did an awesome job and definitely gave me a run for my money. I would like to thank those who visit my blog and congratulated me - it made my day (((((♥hugs♥))))). With the level of talent in this card showdown, I really have to step it up a notch and I really hope that this card helps me make it through to the next round. I just love the sketches that Laura and Kazan share with us. I usually create my best cards with their sketches and I feel this one is no different. For this card, I stamped, heat embossed, and stitched with a clear card base from ShortCuts. (I know it is hard to tell in the pictures, but the pink typed patterned paper is on the back/inside portion of the card and the scalloped lined paper and embellishments are on the front).

**Thanks for all of your kind comments. I have had a couple of requests via email from people who would like to see what the card looks like with just the front on the clear card base and also a close up of the heart, so I am editing this post to put them here. I took a couple of different shots because it is kind of hard to capture the clear card base....

And here is the close up of the heart and wings.....

Cardstock, ribbon, sentiment stamp, ink, embossing powder: Stampin’ Up!®
Clear card base: ShortCuts
Patterned Paper: Creative Imaginations and Daisy D’s
Flourish and wing stamps: Fancy Pants Designs
Rhinestones: Creating Keepsakes
Flowers: Imaginesence and Prima
Other: Cricut and George cartridge, Inksentials Glossy Accents, Glimmer Mist, mulberry paper, thread and sewing machine

Thanks for stopping by!!
Wish me luck!!

Dearest Dad Father's Day Card - Kazan's Sketch #28 at 2s4y

This is my card for Kazan's sketch #28 at 2 Sketches 4 You. I have been trying to come up with ideas for a Father's Day card for my dad and this sketch seemed to be a good one to work with. I got this Branch Out stamp set from Stampin' Up!® a couple of months ago, and now that I have finally used it, I can say that it is one of my favorites to play with. I have also found a new technique that I love to do because it looks awesome. It is when I cut out and emboss the oval image with my Nestabilities, I kept the die on the Very Vanilla cardstock and inked on the inside of the die.....it leaves that great vanilla colored edge on the oval shape.

Cardstock: Stampin' Up!® Very Vanilla, Kraft, Always Artichoke
Patterned Paper: Stampin' Up!® Manchester
Stamp set: Stampin' Up!® Branch Out
Inks: Stampin' Up!® Close to Cocoa, Always Artichoke, Baja Breeze
Metal embellishments: We R Memory Keepers
Punches: Stampin' Up!® small and large ovals, Stampin' Up!® spiral punch, Martha Stewart branch punch
Other: Oval Nestabilities, needle and thread, Stampin' Up!® Linen Thread
