Apron Strings Designs August 2009 DT Projects

Whew!! August has been jam packed full of events (some good and some not so good). A couple of days ago I found out that one of my cousins passed away and I will be attending a funeral tomorrow. ♥ ya Spencer.....you will be missed!! We have also been busy attending family reunions this month with the final one on Sunday.....which also is my son's 4th birthday....HAPPY BIRTHDY KARSON!! MOMMY LOVES YOU!! Since we are so busy this week, we will celebrate with cake and ice cream for him on Monday. He wants a Wall-E cake, so, he will have to wait until Monday for me to get it done. With things being so busy around here, I have lacked time, motivation, and inspiration to craft and so I am going to share my DT projects from Apron Strings Designs with you this week. These kits are from their August 2009 Bigger Than A Bread Box kit.

This first one has the Bo Bunny - U Bug Me line.....

And this second one is from the Basic Gray - June Bug line......

I still have yet to do a blog candy giveaway with a fabulous prize. I will get it posted sometime in the next week.....stay tuned........
♥ Hugs,

Princess Card - Kazan's Sketch 33 at 2s4y

I have been super busy this last week or so and I have also been out of town for a few days, so I finally had a chance to get a card created based upon Kazan's sketch this week at 2 Sketches 4 You. I really wanted to get another card done for CPS this week, but I am going camping with my family, so I won't get a chance. I tried something new with this card and made a paper ruffle out of the turquoise patterned paper. It was quite easy and I really liked the results.

Cardstock, "Princess" stamp, ribbon, scallop edge punch: Stampin' Up!®
Patterned paper: Prima
Threading Water punch: Fiskars
Rhinestones: Miscellaneous
Oval and Scallop Oval: Nestabilities
Crown: Cricut and Storybook cartridge
Sewing machine and thread
I have some fabulous blog candy to give away next week, so be sure to check back.

Get Well Soon - Laura's Sketch 32 and Use It Challenge

This week, I combined sketch 32 by Laura at 2 Sketches 4 You with Use It Challenge #22. I thought that they worked perfectly together and so off to my scrapbook room I went to create a card. For the Use It Challenge #22 (brought to us by the fabulous June Houck), we had to use 1. A New Technique - one we haven't tried before and I have never stamped on ribbon/fabric before......for this card, I stamped on the Twill Tape from Stampin' Up!®. I really like how it turned out and will definitely do it again. 2. Use a Virgin Stamp - I haven't used this Lots of Bots stamp set from Stampin' Up!®....my first purchase from the new catalog. 3. Use Papers You Haven't Used Before - I just bought this Basic Gray cardstock from Stampin' Up!® and just opened the pack for this card. I haven't ever used gray cardstock on a card before this and had reluctance to even try it until I bought this stamp set and I love how it looks with these papers and stamps.

All Stampin' Up!® products:
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla
Patterned Paper: Manchester (retired)
Ink: Basic Gray
Punches: 1 3/4" Circle, 3/4" Circle, Spiral edge
Other: Twill Tape, Linen Thread, Clear Buttons, Silver Brads, Mat Pack, Paper Piercing Tool

Brenda, please CLICK HERE to email me your mailing info so that I can get your goodies off to you.

Thanks to all who participated and I will be giving away some more blog candy in the next little while to celebrate my 2 years of blogging and over 100 followers. Stay tuned for the design team stuff that I have been working on for Apron Strings Designs. Also, I am thinking of doing another tutorial and I hope to get some new cards posted this week.

Hugs,

Oh yeah, btw....I am trying to get my blog on my custom domain and I am having issues, so if you come to my blog and it isn't here, don't worry, it should be up and running soon. If anyone has any knowledge in this area, I could probably use some help getting it all set up because it just doesn't want to work for me. ***I think I got it fixed....I stayed up WAY too late and played around with it and now it works***

With Sympathy - 3 Challenges in 1

First of all, I haven't forgotten that I need to draw a winner from my AdornIt blog hop post, but I have been busy with a family reunion, design team commitments and now an ill baby, so I will get to it this weekend.

Now on to the card that I created with 3 different challenges. The first challenge is Kazan's sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You. I also took the challenge from The Pink Stamper to use a technique that you just had to have when you started scrapbooking and one of the first things I bought was the color spritzer tool from Stampin' Up!® that creates a misty splattered look with the ink from the Stampin' Up!® pens. My third challenge was from Use It blog to create a card based on this ad:
as well as a tool you haven't used for at least 6 months (I had to blow the dust off of my color spritzer tool). The other part of this challenge, I couldn't do (so I may be disqualified) is to use the letter stickers....I don't have any of those because since I have my Cricut, I don't buy them and have donated or given my children all of my letter stickers, so I stamped a sentiment instead. When I first saw this ad, I thought instantly of the Exotic Blooms stamp set from Stampin' Up!®.

Stampin Up!® Supplies:
Cardstock: Ballet Blue, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Whisper White
Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Ballet Blue, Bashful Blue
Other: Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Vintage brads, Modern Label punch, Word Window punch, Scallop edge punch
Non-Stampin' Up!® product: Provo Craft Cuttlebug and embossing folder
