Some Things To Share With You

So, Did you know that Saturday October 3rd is World Card Making Day?? Caardvarks will be having some fun things to celebrate this holiday for us card makers as they post all day long....every hour on the hour.......so be sure the check it out.

Caardvarks - World Cardmaking Day
There are many bloggers that will be sharing their creations on that day and there is a blog tour that you can go from blog to blog to see many wonderful creations (click on the world below to find the list). Mine is included amongst the many at #86. You can come back here on Saturday and see what I have in store for you.

World Cardmaking Day
Today is also the last day to enter for my blog candy giveaway. There is less than two hours to get your name in and I will draw for a winner sometime tomorrow.

I was going to share a few things with you for the last few weeks, but I have been so busy with other things, that I haven't had a chance, and so here they are.....

First is the 6x6 recipe page that I swapped with the other super talented ladies at the Utah Swarm I attended a few weeks ago. I created 12 of these to swap....

Cardstock, patterned paper, and spiral punch: Stampin' Up!
Rope border punch: Fiskars
Cut images done with my Cricut and Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.

Next is the birthday cake I made for my little boy last month. When he saw his sisters Barbie cake back in March, he decided that he wanted mom to make him a WALL-E cake (he asked almost every week until his birthday) and so here it is......

For my baby girls first birthday, I made her this butterfly cake, but she didn't want to wait and dug right in for this picture....lol

I hope that you all are having a happy scrapping week and come back tomorrow because I have something exciting to share with you.
Hugs,

Merry Christmas Dear Friend - Caardvarks Sketchfest Saturday

Today is the last day for the Caardvarks Sketchfest and this card is based on the final sketch created again by the wonderfully talented Heidi Van Laar. I am pretty pleased that I was able to complete each of the seven sketch challenges. When I first saw this sketch, I had ideas for a Halloween card, but I couldn't quite put it together and so I switched gears and remembered that I wanted to get a jump start on my Christmas cards this year, so this is what I came up with......

Cardstock, stamps, ink, ribbon, patterned paper, curly label punch: Stampin' Up!
Branch punch: Martha Stewart
Circle and scallop circle: Spellbinders Nestabilities
Other: Cuttlebug and Snowflake embossing folder, Crop-A-Dile, Ranger Glossy Accents

Give Thanks - Laura's Sketch 35 at 2s4y

What a busy and creative week I have had participating in the sketch challenges this week. In case you haven't noticed, I LOVE SKETCHES. I hadn't ever used a card sketch before I discovered 2 Sketches 4 You last year, but since then I have been trying to participate in all of the wonderful sketches Laura and Kazan have put out every week. This week is no different. I created this card from Laura's beautiful sketch 35 at 2 Sketches 4 You. When I bought A Child's Year cartridge for my Cricut a couple of weeks ago, I saw that it had some great window cards on it and I have been itching to try one out and this sketch by Laura provided me a great opportunity to do that.

Cardstock, patterned paper, stamp, inks, ribbon, border punch, and oval punches: Stampin' Up!
Card cut with Cricut and A Child's Year cartridge
Window elements cut with Cricut and the Storybook and Mini Monograms carts
Embossing with Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots embossing folder
Sewing machine and thread.

Be sure to check back later to see the card that I create with the last sketch at Caardvarks for Sketchfest Saturday.

Dear Friend - Kazan's Sketch 35 at 2s4y

WOW!! Is it Friday already?? This week has gone by quite fast for me and tomorrow is my baby girl's first birthday. Last night, after my kids went to bed, I took the opportunity to create this card with the great sketch by Kazan this week at 2 Sketches 4 You. I have had this stamp set from Stampin' Up! for a while, but after I got it, I didn't quite know what I wanted to create with it.....that is until I saw the sketch for this card.......

To do all the colors on the tree, I stamped the tree image into my Crushed Curry ink pad, then I added the other colors with my Stampin' Write markers. I breathed onto it to apply moisture before I stamped the image onto cardstock.

Supplies:

Cardstock, stamps, ink, ribbon, linen thread, scallop edge punch: Stampin' Up!

Patterned Paper: K&Company

Other: Cuttlebug and embossing folder, Cricut and Storybook cartridge, button from Michaels, sewing machine and thread

Have a wonderful day!!

Swarm and Caardvarks Challenges

So here I am, back at home from my scrapping weekend in SLC. It was great to get away for a couple of days and get a few projects done (not sure my mojo is all the way back because I wasn't too inspired to create a whole lot). I have some projects to share with you throughout the week and this first one is from our Saturday Swarm challenge, which was to create anything using two of the Halloween Imaginesence papers and stamp as well as the purple ribbon and fiber that was provided. We could use anything else we wanted to and this is what I created. I use two of the sketches by Heidi Van Laar at Caardvarks for these, too. The card is based on sketch #1 and the purse is based on sketch #2.

Cardstock and scallop edge punch: Stampin' Up!
Patterned paper and stamps: Imaginisce
Purse and tag were cut with my Cricut and Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More cart and the circle and scallop circle were cut with the Mini Monograms cart
Buttons: Sassafras
Black Pearls: Doodlebug
Ink: Staz On and Cat's Eye Fluid Chalk
Glitter: Stickles by Ranger

I hope you have had a wonderful weekend....I sure did!!
