My Cards for the 2s4y DT Call

I have applied for the Design Team at 2 Sketches 4 You. In order to apply, I needed to create one card off of each sketch by Laura and Kazan. I wanted to share my two cards with you. The first card is based of the sketch by Kazan. I crocheted the white flower for this card myself. I also used the Bazzill In Stitch'z templates for the stem and leaves on this card.

This second card is based off of the sketch by Laura. I used the sweet treat cups from Stampin' Up! for the candy corn on this card.

I hope that you are having a frightfully good weekend!!

A Halloween BOO - 2s4y, Cinema Saturday, and Cuttlebug Challenge

I don't usually make Halloween cards.....personally, I think that any Halloween card I create isn't very good, but I do like this one. It is based on the Sketch 38 by the super talented Kazan at 2 Sketches 4 You. This is my first time participating with Cinema Saturday and I used their Hocus Pocus theme for this card. I love to watch that movie during Halloween (it is going to be on tonight on ABC Family). Because Hocus Pocus is my favorite thing to watch during Halloween, this card is also for the Cuttlebug Challenge 55 to create a card based on one of my favorite things.

For the moon, I cut out the circle and then crumpled up the paper. I then highlighted the ridges that were created in the paper with a light cat's eye ink pad. It doesn't really show up well in the photo, but I also sprayed it with the pearl colored glimmer mist to give it a little bit of sparkle.

Cardstock: Stampin' Up!
Patterned paper: Scribble Scrabble
Other: Cricut with Stamped, George, and A Child's Year cartridges, Cuttlebug and embossing folder, Cat's eye fluid chalk, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, sewing machine and thread.

I have been busy working on design team projects that I will share with you later, so there is lots more to come.

I hope you have a great day!!

Cute Penguin Card - Laura's Sketch 37 at 2s4y

We have had a week full of illness here at our house. Finally, it seems like it is over (for the moment anyway). I have been busy taking card of ill kids, but I have also found a moment or two here and there to get some cards done, as well as a few DT projects. This is the card that I created with the great sketch from Laura this week at 2 Sketches 4 You. I love this stamp set from Stampin' Up! called Cold & Cuddly (Holiday mini catalog). There are several cute characters with it as well as accessories to add to them. On this card, I used the darling little penguin and one of the hats that goes with the set. I found these papers from Me & My Big Ideas and they match the Rich Razzleberry ink from Stampin' Up! perfectly. I created kind of a hinge at the top of the card with a score mark and secured the card closed at the top with eyelets. Again, it is another gloomy looking day outside and I wasn't able to get a very good shot of this card, but I wanted to share it with you, so here you go.....

Cardstock, stamp, ribbon, ink, punches: Stampin' Up!
Patterned paper: MAMBI
Wire: Darice craft wire
Rhinestones: Michaels
Snowflakes: Cut with Cricut and A Child's Year cartridge

Thanks Card

What poor weather we are having here today!! It is a very dark and rainy day. I couldn't get a very good shot of this card. I created this card with a few different challenges in mind. First, I based it on the bonus sketch by Cheryl at 2 Sketches 4 You last week. I also used the Be Inspired #53: Fall Color Challenge at Cuttlebug Challenges for this card. And I just love to use ribbon and ruffles on a my cards and so this card is also for the Moxie Fab Ruffle Challenge.

All items are Stampin' Up! with the exception of the Cuttlebug and D'vine Swirls embossing folder and the Nestabilities used to cut the oval and scallop oval.

Warm Winter Wishes - CPS 137 & Moxie Fab Ruffles

I have loved this stamp from the first time I saw this hostess stamp set in the Stampin' Up! catalog. It has been calling my name to use it since, but I was looking for the right sketch to try it out on. Sketch 137 at Card Positioning Systems provided the perfect opportunity to put some ink on that stamp especially with winter right around the corner. I also used ruffles on the ribbon for the Moxie Fab Challenge. I have never participated in the challenges over there, but I love ribbon and ruffles, so I had to play.

Cardstock, stamps, ribbon, ink, markers, ticket corner punch, word window punch, embossing powder: Stampin' Up!
Patterned paper: MAMBI
Embossing: Cuttlebug
Sewing machine and thread

Have a great day!!

A Very Merry Christmas - Kazan's Sketch 37 at 2s4y

I have to admit that the sketch by Kazan this week at 2 Sketches 4 You had me stumped for a while, but I eventually came up with this card. They have a Christmas theme and I like the idea of getting as many Christmas cards done before the season starts. I wasn't exactly sure how to use the sketch, and I am only somewhat happy with the results. It also may have something to do with the terrible head cold I have had and the persistent headache that seemed to accompany it. I do feel a little better today and so lets hope it is going away. I may tweak this card and do my Christmas card swap with this one.....now I just need to find some more of this lovely paper by MAMBI.

Carstock, stamps, ink, markers, ribbon: Stampin' Up!
Patterned paper: MAMBI
Embossing: Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots embossing folder
Glitter: Stickles Glitter Glue by Ranger
Cricut and Accent Essentials used to create the green die cut image and the white circle under it

I am also very honored that my card HERE was chosen as Card Of The Week at 2 Sketches 4 You last week. It totally made my day.

I hope to be able to post another card or two today....totally dependant upon how well my kids take their naps today......

I hope your weekend has made a great start.

Some LO's and Cards for the AS Croptober Fest

So, I have had a busy and scrappy weekend. I participated in the Apron Strings Croptober Fest and I got several pages complete. They are still going to have some weekly challenges for the rest of the month, so hop on over to the Apron Strings Blog and see what challenge is up next. I wish I would have had time to complete them all, but with a couple of kids with colds (and I am afraid I am coming down with a cold as well), I didn't get them all completed. I am going to share a few with you (just so you know I do scrapbook and just not make cards...lol). Everything you see here I got from the kits I received from Apron Strings Designs. This first LO is based on the sketch HERE. It is a LO of my son at Bear Lake a couple of years ago......

I've never put flowers on a boy LO before, but I love them on this one and now I am not afraid to put flowers on a boy layouts......

For this LO, the challenge was to use non-theme papers for a theme LO and I used non-winter pages on this LO of my kids playing in the snow.....

The challenge for this LO was to use naked chipboard on the LO. Now, I have never used naked chipboard before and I didn't know if I would like it, but I love it!! I didn't have to prep it in any way, so it saved me time putting this LO together. I love doing challenges because it helps me to think and use things in ways I hadn't tried before. This LO is of my 30th birthday and there is a little pull out tag under the photo (where it says notes) with journaling.

This final pic is of a set of 4 cards that I created with the scraps from the Celebrate 30 LO above.

Boy Birthday Card - Mojo Monday Sketch 107

I am needing boy birthday cards because we have more boys than girls in our family and I am usually more inspired to make girl cards, but when I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to create a card for a boy's birthday. It is based on the sketch at Mojo Monday this week. I used my watercolor crayons from Stampin' Up! to color in the image.

Cardstock, stamps, watercolor crayons: Stampin' Up!
Ribbon: Michaels
Brads: Making Memories
Gel pen: Uniball Signo
Other: Nestabilities, Cuttlebug and embossing folder.

Cool Stuff Today...

I have opened up an Etsy shop to help pay for my paper crafting addiction. I have several of the cards I have created and posted on this blog up for sale. If you are interested, you can check out my shop HERE or there is a box on the right side of my blog that has a link and some of my cards. I will also be selling some of my older Stampin' Up! sets in the coming weeks.

There is a great online crop going on this weekend at the Apron Strings Designs blog. There are some great challenges along with non-fattening cookie jar treats thrown into the mix. So, be sure hop on over HERE and check out the details and challenges. I am going to get some stuff done for this super fun crop and I would love to see your layouts, too.

This is also the last week to get in on the Cricut 100th cartridge celebration. Cricut is celebrating the release of their 100th cartridge Winter Woodland and they are giving away 20 more carts this week to celebrate. Check out the Cricut message board for details.

A Best Friend Is.......

I decided to combine the great sketch by Laura this week at 2 Sketches 4 You with the "Take A Bow" challenge at Caardvarks. For the Caardvarks challenge, you need to make a new card using ribbon in a wonderful way and for this card, I made a ruffle at the bottom with ribbon.

Cardstock, stamps, ink, ribbon, scallop edge punch: Stampin' Up!
Patterned paper: Sassafras
Circle and Scallop Circle: Nestabilities
Embossing: Cuttlebug and Moroccan Screen embossing folder

Hello Pumpkins - 2s4y World Card Making Day Sketch

I had to quickly throw this card together to get it done in time for WCMD. It is based on the WCMD sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. I have been super busy today picking grapes and getting them ready to make jelly tomorrow, so I almost didn't make it, but here it is.....

Cardstock, ribbon, scallop edge punch: Stampin' Up!
Patterned papers and die cut accents: Scribble Scrabble

I hope that your day has been fun and you had a chance to celebrate World Card Making Day.

Hugs,

In Everything Give Thanks - Mojo Monday 106

Happy World Card Making Day!! I love the fact that there is a holiday for us obsessed card makers and all the fun and wonderful things that accompany it. At the bottom of this post are some links to where you will find me playing today. Have fun!!

I love the fall for the cooler days and nights, the chance to light up my fireplace and have a warms place to sit while I drink my tea or read my favorite book. I also love the rich warm colors that represent fall and I have used them on this card based on sketch 106 at Mojo Monday this week.

All products are Stampin' Up! (only exception being the sewing machine and thread used on this card). I used my Stampin' Up! markers to color the image and I love the way it turned out.

Here is where I will be playing today......

Rustic Male Birthday Card - CPS 135

This is the first of the cards I will be posting today for World Card Making Day. What a wonderful day to celebrate card makers and the beautiful cards they create. I have been wanting to make a male card with this stamp set for several months, but the set just got pushed to the back of my stamp shelf and I forgot about it until yesterday when I pulled it out and created this card. I used sketch 135 over at CPS to create this card.

All items are from Stampin' Up with the exception of the button which is Sassafras.
Happy card making!!

Happy 1st Birthday - Kazan's Sketch 36 at 2s4y

I just love one of the newer carts that was released by Provo Craft for the Cricut recently. It is called A Child's Year and it has so many fabulous images on it. They are silhouette images and no layering. The child in the highchair on this card is one of those images. I used Kazan's sketch 36 at 2 Sketches 4 You to create this card.

Cardstock, ribbon, ink, stamp, circle punches: Stampin' Up!
Patterned paper: My Mind's Eye
Buttons: Sassafras
Image and 1st cut with Cricut and A Child's Year cartridge, Scallop edge cut with Mini Monograms cartridge
Sewing machine and thread

There will also be a blog hop at 2 Sketches 4 You on Saturday for World Card Making Day that will be sure to be filled with wonderful inspiration.
