Thank You - Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

I created this card based on the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World this week.  I loved the layout and the colors used, so I made my own version and this is what I came up with.  I also embossed and painted the embossing on the yellow cardstock with white paint for the Playing With Paint Challenge on Teri Anderson's blog.
        Cardstock: Bazzill, Stampin' Up!
        Ribbon: Creating Keepsakes
Punches, stamp, embossing powder: Stampin' Up!
        Brads, paint: Making Memories
        Embossing: Cuttlebug and Quickutz

I hope that your Memorial Day weekend has been great.   My grandfather was a veteran and I am very thankful to those who have died defending our constitutional rights in this country.  We might make it to the park later today, but for now, I am enjoying the warmer weather and the smell of our freshly mowed lawn. =)

Exciting Announcement & Reminder

I have some exciting news to share with you.  I made ScrapbookPal's design team along with seven other fabulous gals, including my good friend Tomi.  You can see who else made the design team HERE and you can visit the other designers blogs on my left sidebar.  I am excited about this new adventure.  ScrapbookPal has always been one of my favorite online retailers and they always have fabulous customer service with lightening fast shipping as well as free shipping on orders over $25.  Did you also know that they have the newest Cricut cartridges (except Toy Story) in stock now.  They also have a blog that you can sign up to follow to get updates on new products HERE.  I would like to congratulate the other design team members and I am very excited to get to work with them.

I also wanted to remind you that tomorrow is the last day you can sign up for my blog giveaway.  I am going to draw three winners to each receive a set of my crochet flowers that I sell in my Etsy Store.  Check back later this week to see who won.

I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend!!

Happy Bird-day!

Here is another birthday card for the day.  I usually make birthday cards at the last minute because I don't have them on hand, so right now I am going to build up my stash with some birthday cards over the next few weeks.

This card is based on Kazan's Sketch 52 at 2 Sketches 4 You.  I used my Cricut and Gypsy with the Home Decor and Straight From the Nest carts along with the fabulous new features that Provo Craft has given the Gyspy software......one of my favorites being the Hide Contour feature.....I used it to make the cute little bird and I was able to cut the layers for it without wasting very much cardstock with all the extra cuts.  With the Hide Contour, I was able to cut the wing out without having to cut out the whole bird just to get the extra color for the wing.

This is also another birthday card for the Little Red Wagon Birthday Card Challenge.

Cardstock, ribbon, ink, stamp: Stampin' Up!
        Brads: Making Memories
        Embossing: Cuttlebug
Die Cuts: Cricut with Home Decor and Straight From the Nest carts

Whew....that was a whole lot of posting in one day.  There are only a couple of days left to enter for my blog candy, so be sure to sign up...remember, I am drawing for three winners next week.

I hope your weekend is going great.  Do you have any plans for the holiday??  We will probably be home.  My husband has to work and with my broken toe and my son being ill, we don't have plans to go anywhere.  Thanks for stopping by to visit.

Hugs,

Monochromatic Birthday

I will have a few cards to share with you today.  First up is this card I created based on CPS Sketch 168.  I wasn't sure exactly what to use for the four elements down the side of the card and I was sitting in my scrapbook room with some square scraps on my desk and so I decided to make these rolled paper roses and use them for this card.  I decided to do a birthday card for the Little Red Wagon Challenge #30 because I never have enough birthday cards.

        Cardstock, stamp, ink: Stampin' Up!
Embossing: Cuttlebug with Swiss Dots embossing folder
        Other: paper scraps, ribbon

A Fairytale for Cinema Saturday

I was hoping to get more done this week to share with you, but I still have to take care of things at home, it just takes me longer to complete tasks since I broke my toe.  I did get some DT work done and also this card today.

Even though I am a little late and didn't make the challenge deadline, I wanted to share it with you.  This week at Cinema Saturday was another fun theme for me.  It was Becoming Jane.....based in the life of Jane Austen.  I pulled out the movie over the weekend (while I nursed my broken toe) and watched it for only the second time since I bought it last year.  I feel sad about the loss of love Jane had in her life, but we probably wouldn't have the wonderful books that she wrote if her life would have been any different.  For our cards this week, we needed to use flowers and pearls.  I chose the sentiment because even though it didn't last for very long, she did have a fairytale and she shares with us fairytails though her books.

Cardstock, patterned paper, ribbon, stamps, ink: Stampin' Up!
        Pearls: Creating Keepsakes
        Circle die: Spellbinders Nestabilities
        Other: Sewing machine and thread

Happy Retirement

Yesterday, I was enjoying a wonderful day and later we were watching a movie when my 4 year old son fell asleep.  When I was taking him to his room, he woke slightly and started to try to wiggle out of my arms.  I tried to regain my balance so that I wouldn't drop him when I fell down the stairs and fractured my big toe and bruised my hip.  My son landed on me and thank heavens he didn't get hurt at all.  So, I am going to be down for a while and I hope that means that I will have opportunity to scrap and make cards......since most household chores require me to be standing and I can sit with my foot up and scrap. ;)

I created this card for the Paper Crafts Go To Sketch Challenge on Flickr a week or so ago, but I also wanted to share it with you here.
        Cardstock: Stampin' Up! and Coredinations
        Stamp and ink: Stampin' Up!
Die cuts: Cricut by Provocraft with Going Places,
Mini Monograms, and Paper Doll Dress Up carts
        Other: Raffia, dimensional adhesive

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget about my giveaway HERE.

Smile - 2S4Y

I hope that you have something to smile about today.  It is suppose to be a rainy day here, but right now, the sun is shining and it is a beautiful spring day.  I actually love the rain and the way it smells outside afterwards.  I used Laura's Sketch 52 at 2 Sketches 4 You for my card today.  When I saw the sketch, I knew I wanted to use my new Give A Hoot cartridge and create some kind of scene in the circle area.  I also have seen so many of those fabulous banners on cards that I wanted to use the one on the Give A Hoot cartridge on this card for the word smile.  This card did take me a while to create, but I absolutely love the end result.

        Cardstock: Stampin' Up! and Bazzill
        Ribbon: Stampin' Up!
        Glitter: Stickles Glitter Glue
Die Cuts: Cricut by Provo Craft with Give A Hoot (tree, grass, deer, banner),
Alphalicious (letters) and George (circle) Cartridges.
        Embossing: Cuttlebug by Provo Craft
        Other: Thread

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment....it makes me smile when I read them.  Don't forget about my giveaway...click HERE to check it out.

I just love spring with the warmer temperatures and the beautiful ways that the earth renews life.  I hope that you are enjoying the weather and season where you live.  What is your favorite thing about the season you are in??

We went out of town for a few days to visit family and friends and a post that I had scheduled to go up earlier this week didn't make it, so I will have to re-post it for you in the next few days.  Right now, I have a card that I created with Kazan's Sketch 52 at 2 Sketches 4 You and the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger this week.  I was inspired by the ruffles on the plates with the Tuesday Trigger as well as the colors and the daisy.

Patterned paper, button: My Mind's Eye
Other: crochet thread, sewing machine and thread
