Elegant Thank You Card

It is always nice to escape to my scrapbook room at the end of the day after taking care of sick children.  I did get a few moments last night to make this "thank YOU!" card.  I used Sketch 155 at CPS along with the SRM Stickers + Chipboard Challenge (the white circle is chipboard) and the Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger.

Cardstock, patterned paper, ribbon, border punch, linen thread: Stampin' Up!
        Sticker: SRM
        Button: Doodlebug
        Pearl accents: Recollections

I think I see the sun peeking out today.  YAY!!  I am off to catch some much needed rays.  Have a fabulous weekend!!

Crochet Flowers - Moxie Fab and 2S4Y

I hope that you are having a fabulous week.  I have had a lot going on with my family and personal issues, so I haven't had as much time to craft as I would like to.  I have had the idea for this card in my head for a couple of days and it felt wonderful to finally get it created.  It is based on Sketch 46 by Laura this week at 2 Sketches 4 You.  I also used the Fun With Floss challenge at Moxie Fab World.  I love using floss on my cards and this time, I combined my love of crocheting with my love of card making.  My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was very young.  I often crochet gifts for others such as hats, scarves, and afghans.  I recently started to make a whole bunch of crochet flowers (that I plan to put on my etsy site soon) and when I saw the challenge at Moxie Fab, I decided to try to crochet these cute little flowers with the embroidery floss.

Here is a close-up of the flowers and leaves that I crocheted.  I also stitched with the embroidery floss to create stems and grass.
Cardstock, stamp, ink, border punch, ribbon: Stampin' Up!
        Other: embroidery floss, buttons

I hope that your day is going wonderfully.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Caardvarks Challenge - Stuck On You

Ahhh.....it is the weekend and we are finally starting to feel better around here after our bout with the flu.  I was working on my DT projects for the new Caardvarks challenge which is to use stickers on your card.  I had the chance to work with these fabulous stickers from SRM that seem to melt right into your paper or cardstock.  I love the way they look and they are not glossy, so they are perfect for cards and layouts.  SRM is the sponsor for the Caardvarks challenge this week and you can win a huge package of these yummy stickers for yourself.

The sentiments on all of these cards (and the bird on the second card) are all SRM Stickers.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

Apron Strings Designs February 2010 DT Projects

I am sorry that I have been MIA for the last week, but we took a short little trip and brought home the stomach flu.  I do have some stuff to share with you today.  Here are the projects from the sneak peek I gave you a little while ago.  I created everything on these projects with the Bigger Than A Bread Box kit from Apron Strings Designs.  You can see what the other designers have done with the kits this month as well as see what the kit includes on the Apron Strings Designs website.  They also have a BLOG where they have sketch challenges going on all month in celebration of their 5 year birthday with the chance to win some scrapping goodies.

These first projects are done with My Mind's Eye - Life Stories:

This second set of projects is done with Basic Grey - Sugar Rush:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a fabulous day!!

So Loved - CPS, Moxie Fab, and Cuttlebug Challenges

I love the sketch this week at Card Positioning Systems, so I just had to make a card with it.  I combined it with two challenges.  The first is Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger (picture below)

And the Cuttlebug Challenges - Be Inspired #70 which is to incorporate fabric.....I used fabric to sew together a little heart and I added a little batting to make it puffy.  My fellow Caardvarks Crew member Eva has a fabulous tutorial on how to make this awesome puffy heart HERE.

Cardstock, stamps, ink, twine: Stampin' Up!
        Embossing: Cuttlebug
        Other: button and thread

Sorry about the pictures....we had no sun today and so I had to rely on artificial lighting and Photoshop.  If we get better lighting tomorrow, I will try to retake the pictures.  I would also like to thank those who have helped me out with buying stamp sets and/or donating money.  It means so much to me and my family.

Hugs,

New Look, Re-Draw For Blog Candy, Retired SU! Items For Sale, and Donation Button

I have made a new header for my blog and taken away the background....sometimes I feel that it makes the blog look too busy with the background and so, there isn't one right now. I hope you like the new look.

I have had to do another re-draw for my blog candy.....I don't know why the previous winners never contacted me, but you can see who the new winner is HERE.

I also have many retired SU! stamp sets for sale.  I have listed them on the Cricut message board and sold some, but I still have many more for sale.  You can view them HERE.  If you are interested in any of them, please E-MAIL me with what you would like and your zip code so that I can calculate shipping and get back with you.

My husband has been out of work and so I am having to sacrifice some of my scrapbooking items so that we can pay bills and fix our washing machine.  My husband has already sold most of his tools (except the few basic ones we still need) and I sold many stamp sets in December to buy Christmas for my kids.  If you find it in your heart to help us out by purchasing some of my cards from MY ETSY STORE, visiting an ad link on my blog, or even donating to my paypal account to help me out, that would be so kind and my family and I would be extremely grateful.

Hugs and Warm Thoughts,

Hi There - 2S4Y

I don't know about you, but I am ready for spring.  Usually this first hits me about the middle of January, but the feeling has held off until now and I am ready for winter to be over.  I created this card from the awesome sketch by Laura this week at 2 Sketches 4 You.  I used some brighter colored scraps to lighten my mood a little bit.  I thought that the sketch looked like a tall card, and so my card is 4 inches by 9 inches and fits perfectly into a letter sized envelope.  It is snowing here today and so my lighting isn't the best, but I was able to lighten it a little in Photoshop.

I used some dimensional adhesive to lift the flowers and center of the sun off the card a little bit....
Cardstock, ink, ribbon, embossing powder, punches, sentiment stamp: Stampin' Up!
        Stamp set: Autumn Leaves
        Patterned paper: Dream Street
        Brad: Making Memories

I hope that you are having a great week!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Robot Boy Birthday Card - 2S4Y

I quickly put this together last night for my nephew's birthday today.  I love this Lot's of Bots stamp set from Stampin' Up! and wanted to use it on this card.  I altered the round card in the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You a little bit to an octagon shaped card.

Cardstock, stamp, ink, watercolor crayons, metal embellishment: Stampin' Up!
        Ribbon: Michaels
        White pen: Uni-ball Signo
