Here are a couple of cards I whipped up with the scraps:

I hope that you are having a wonderful start to the week!!  I am in the process of making my kids costumes....I was hoping to have them done by now, but I have had a terrible cold that I am now just getting over.  I will have to share my little spooks for 2010 after the fun and candy filled day is over.

Haunted House Card For Halloween

It is getting closer and closer to my kids favorite holiday.....HALLOWEEN and so I thought I would make this card to share with you today.  I used the October 31st cartridge to cut the house.  Since I cut it so small, it didn't cut extremely clean, but that just added to the spookiness of it.

      Supplies:
Cardstock, stamp, punches, ribbon, twine, ink: Stampin' Up!
        Patterned Paper: Scribble Scrabble
Die cut: Cricut Expression with October 31st cartridge

I made this card for the Halloween project challenge at My Pink Stamper.  I also used the Mojo Monday sketch 159 for this card.  Thanks for visiting!!

Welcome Card

Here is another card with my new Copic markers and Unity Stamps.  I used Sketch 188 at CPS for this card.  For those of you who have a Cricut, did you know that the Once Upon A Princess cart has tons of labels on it??  I found that out when my friend Tomi used it to design last month on the ScrapbookPal blog.

      Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampin' Up! (white and berry), The Paper Company (kraft)
        Patterned paper: Stampin 'Up!
Stamps: Unity (houses), Stampin' Up! (sentiment)
Die cut labels: Cricut Expression with Once Upon A Princess cart
        Ink: Stampin' Up! and Momento
        Markers: Copic
Other: ribbon and button (both unknown)

I love the rich colors that I get with the Copic markers with little work.  Just like when I was a kid, I do need to learn to color within the lines again.....LOL

Two In Love Card With Some New Favorites

Hello everyone!!  I hope you have had a fantastic start to your weekend.  Today, the sun is shining and we will be reaching some pretty warm temperatures for this time of the year.  I think that the kids and I may have to sneak down to the park this afternoon.

Over the last few weeks, I have discovered two new favorites......Copic markers and Unity stamps.  I have tried many other coloring techniques and I absolutely love how easy that the Copic markers make coloring my stamped images.  I bought mine from ScrapbookPal.  Did you know that they have free shipping on all orders over $25?  I paid a great price and free shipping for my Copic markers.  I also have been wanting to try some Unity stamps and so when they had a great sale a couple of weeks ago, I picked up a couple of sets.  Today, I have this card to share with you that combines these two new favorites in my scrap room.......along with one of my long time favorite sketch challenges at 2 Sketches 4 You.

      Supplies:
        Cardstock, linen thread: Stampin' Up!
        Stamp: Unity
        Markers: Copic
Die-cuts: Cricut Expression with Straight From The Nest and
Gypsy Wanderings created with the Gypsy
Embossing: Cuttlebug with Swiss Dots embossing folder
Ribbon: Seam binding I crinkled and dyed with Glimmer Mist
        Button: Fancy Pants

So, tell me, what are some of your new favorite tools/supplies??  How about some of your favorite stand by's??  Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.  Check back later today.....I may have another card to share with you that uses these two new favorites again.........

Howdy Card With Woody From Toy Story

I don't know about you, but I have a son who is a major fan of the movie Toy Story, so when this cartridge was announced, there was no doubt that I would have to get it.  I have many wonderful ideas on how I want to use this cart.  This is the first card I have made with it.  I cut Woody and this fabulous wood frame image from this cart.

Here are the steps to re-create this card:
-Cut the frame and layers at 3 1/2 inches and assemble
-Cut Woody and layers at 2 1/2 inches and assemble
-Attach silver brads in the corners of the frame
-Cut brown cardstock at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches
-Cut denim blue cardstock at 5 1/4 x 4 inches
-Using the Distressed Stripes embossing folder and the Cuttlebug, emboss the denim blue cardstock
-Cut vanilla colored cardstock into a 1 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch strip
-Stamp sentiment in the center of the vanilla cardstock and then tear a little cardstock off the long edges
-Ink the edges of all the cardstock and die cut pieces with a Colorbox Fluid Chalk Cat's Eye ink pad in Dark Brown
-Adhere the denim blue cardstock to the brown cardstock and layer the rest of the pieces as shown in the picture above
-Tie a red ribbon below the frame and add two silver brads to each end of the vanilla cardstock
-Finish it off by attaching this to an A2 cardstock base (5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches and folded in half the long way)

Supplies:
Cardstock, stamp: Stampin' Up!
Die cuts: Cricut Expression with Toy Story cartridge
Embossing: Cuttlebug with Distressed Stripes embossing folder
Ribbon: Creating Keepsakes
Brads: Making Memories
Ink: Colorbox Fluid Chalk (Dark Brown), Stampin' Up! (blue)

Here is the sketch that I created from this card:

If you use this sketch, I would love to see it.....please post a link in the commnets.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Halloween Tag and Cri-kits WINNERS!!

Hello everyone!!  I hope you are having a great weekend.  I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Utah Cricut Swarm.  It was so fun to see and meet some wonderful people.  I forgot to take my camera *sigh* and my phone camera was acting up and so I didn't get any shots to share with you.  I did make a tag and take some ribbon to swap with everyone.  It was so fun to see some of my message board friends, meet some other message board members and also to meet some new friends.

Here is the tag that I took to swap with other attendees:
      Supplies:
Cardstock, ribbon, pen, hemp twine: Stampin' Up!
        Patterned Paper: Scribble Scrabble

          October 31st cartridges
Embossing: Cuttlebug with Heritage embossing folders
        Ink: Colorbox Fluid Chalk
        Button: Fancy Pants
        Glitter: Stickles

I was drawn to compete for an Imagine, and they had three of us do a witches cackle into the microphone....I didn't walk away with the imagine machine for that one (my heart was beating so fast and I totally forgot to breathe....lol), but I did get a consolation prize of the Rose Quilling kit for the Cuttlebug.  I can't wait to try it out!!

New Caardvarks Challenge With SRM Stickers

There is a fun new challenge up today at Caardvarks today....it is a Sensational Stickers Scrap-lift challenge.  You get to pick one of the DT's cards and scrap-lift it.  We got to use the new SRM stickers.  These stickers are so wonderful....they are so easy to work with and they melt right into your paper or cardstock.

First up is the card that you can scrap-lift from the Caardvarks blog.  I used my Winter Frolic cartridge to create this cute little bunny and the SRM stickers are the "•let it snow  •let it snow  •let it snow" sentiment:

For this card, I used my Cricut and Gypsy to create the scallops with the holes and the SRM stickers are the cupcake and "eat cake" sentiment:

I used my Cricut to cut the leaves and the "count your blessings" is from SRM Stickers.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Don't forget about my giveaway that you can find HERE.....I will be picking a winner on Friday 10/8.

Happy World Card Making Day 2010!!

Hello!!  Did you know that today is World Card making Day??  It all started in 2006 with Paper Crafts Magazine and card makers all over the world take the opportunity to make and share cards with each other in celebration.  I have joined in on the Celebrate - Blog Tour that you can find by clicking the picture below (and then clicking on the Mr. Linky icon):

I have a couple of cards to share with you today, but lets start off with this card that I made from this weeks sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You.  I used my Cricut to cut a label from Once Upon A Princess for the card base and then folded it in half.  The cute little deer is from the Give A Hoot cartridge.

For the deer, I added some fun flock to make him fuzzy.  I also couldn't find a stamp with the sentiment that I wanted, so I stamped "friend" with a Stampin' Up! stamp and then wrote "dear" above it:

      Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampin' Up! (white, pink, kraft); Bazzill (green, brown)
Die cuts: Cricut Expression with Give A Hoot and Once Upon A Princess
        Ribbon: Michaels
        Stamp, ink, pen: Stampin' Up!
        Flock: Doodlebug
        Other: button, embroidery floss

So, what are you plans today??  Do you hope to make some cards or scrapbook today??  There are many blog hops and giveaways going on today.  Do you plan to participate??  I have a few design team projects that I am working on and then I will be off to have dinner with some family.  Don't forget that I have a giveaway going on HERE.

Birdcage Thank You Card Using Cri-Kits & Giveaway

This giveaway is now closed.....check back soon for another chance to win some more goodies!!

A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Scrapbook USA Expo in Sandy, Utah and I got to meet some wonderful people (see the post HERE).  I also met the awesome people in the Cri-Kits booth and they gave me a set of pens to try out.  Cri-Kits is a company that has developed a gel pen holder that goes inside your Cricut and you can draw with it....they worked wonderfully and the gel pens were so smooth....no skipping at all.  I used my Gypsy for placement with the drawing and cutting.

You just insert the Cri-Kits gel pens inside the holder (there is a little magnet that pulls in and holds the gel pens in place).  I used the Metallic gel pens on my card.

Next, I replaced the blade housing with the Cri-Kits holder.  After you are done drawing, you can unload your mat if you don't intend to cut around the image you drew, but if you want to cut around it, like I did on the bird cages or the label on my card, Do NOT unload your mat.  You will want to place a piece of scratch paper under the pen (to keep the pen from marking your paper) as you carefully unscrew the holder and replace it with the blade and blade housing.
Return to your image and continue with cutting around your images and then assemble your card.

I also drew out this title for a scrapbook page and colored it in with red stripes.  I used the Lyrical Letters for the font.
Guess what?!?  Cri-Kits has offered to give away TWO sets of the Cri-Kits gel pens with a carrier on my blog.

  • If you would like to enter for a set of these Cri-Kits gel pens along with a carrier, please leave a comment below telling me what your favorite Cricut cartridge is.

  • Be sure to leave contact information in your post so that I can contact you if you win.

  • You don't need to be a follower to win, but if you like my blog and want to see more, I would be happy if you decided to sign up on the right sidebar.  I also plan on doing another giveaway for my followers soon and if you follow or subscribe, you will get updated when I post that giveaway.

  • Only one comment per person, please

  • I will be drawing the winners, by random draw, one week from today, on Friday October 8th, so check back to see if you are one of the two lucky winners.
Thanks to Cri-Kits for sponsoring this giveaway.  GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!
