Home Tweet Home Card with ScrapbookPal

It is my turn today to share a post on the ScrapbookPal blog.  =)

I don't know about you, but I am ready for a season change.  We had a touch of spring here a couple of weeks ago, but as I look out my window right now, all traces of that are gone because we have about 16 inches of fresh snow on the ground.  Since I have the new April Showers, Limited Edition cartridge from ScrapbookPal, I thought I would do a card with a spring feel to it.

To re-create this card, you will need -
     *Cricut machine
     *April Showers, Limited Edition cartridge
     *Once Upon A Princess cartridge
     *Home Accents cartridge
     *Signo Uni-ball white gel pen
*Cardstock, patterned paper, ribbon, scallop border and
corner rounder punches (mine are all Stampin' Up!)

Let's get started:
  • Cut your card base to an A2 sized card (11 x 4 1/2 inches folded in half the long way).  Round the bottom corners with a corner rounder punch.
  • Cut your base patterned paper to 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 inches.  You may add an additional strip of patterned paper and scalloped punched cardstock along the bottom as I have at this point.  Round the bottom corners and adhere to the top folded edge of the card base.  Doodle stitches and dots with the Signo Uni-ball white gel pen.
  • Using your Cricut and the Once Upon A Princess cartridge, cut a tag and the layer (pg. 46) at 2 1/4 inches.  Cut the birdhouse and layer from April Showers, Limited Edition cartridge at 1 3/4 inches and the "Tweet" at 3/4 inches).  Cut the word "HOME" twice from the Home Accents cartridge at 1/2 inch.  Doodle stitches and lines on the die cuts with the Signo Uni-ball white gel pen.  Adhere the layers together.
  • Assemble the tag and cut a slit, if desired, in the tag and feed the ribbon through the slit....if you want, you could just tie the ribbon to the base.
  • Adhere the tag to the card base.  Use the cut out heart from the birdhouse as an accent in the bottom right corner of the card.
Tomorrow, 2/28, is the last day to enter THIS GIVEAWAY.  Don't miss out on your chance to win.  I am also just a little over 30 followers away from giving away my HUGE "Some Of My Favorite Things" giveaway (worth over $150)......the cartridge I used in on this card just *might* be one of my new favorite things.  ;)

Layout - Binkie Mouth

Hey, how did that happen??  Two posts in one day??  Well, I have been busy in my mostly organized new scrapping studio and while I have been purging and organizing, I have come across many things that I have been inspired to create with, like this kit from Apron Strings Designs.  I found a *new to me* sketch blog called Sketchy Thursdays.  I just love the layout sketch there this week, so thought I would give it a try.  This is also my first time using SRM Stickers on a layout.  ;)

    Supplies:
        Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned paper, letter stickers: Pink Paislee
        Word stickers: SRM Stickers
        Frame: My Mind's Eye
        Flowers, brads: Imaginisce
        Pen, Stampin' Up!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Live In The Moment

I think that it would be great if we all took the time to live in the moment.......take time from your day to not dwell on the past or worry about the future and just live in the moment and enjoy it.  I know that I can be caught up with worry and then the day goes by and I think "Why did I just let the day slip away and not spend some time enjoying the moment?"

I used the new Tuesday Trigger: Flower Power at Moxie Fab World along with the Sketch 206 at CPS for my card......I know, it doesn't exactly follow the sketch, but I started with the sketch and just let the card take a form of its own.  Usually I try to follow sketches as closely as possible, but this card just went in it's own direction and here is what I came up with.
      Supplies:
Cardstock, stamp, ink, markers: Stampin' Up!
        Sticker: SRM Stickers
        Embossing: Cuttlebug
        Other: brad (unknown), crochet thread

St. Patrick's Day With SRM Stickers

I thought it would be fun to create this St. Patrick's Day card to share on the SRM blog today.  I celebrate St. Patrick's Day every year, but not the same way that most of you do.  My oldest was born on St. Patrick's Day, so we celebrate it birthday style.  ;)  I don't generally make cards for the holiday, but I adore this card and the stickers from SRM work perfectly with these clovers I cut with my Cricut......and how cute is that saying??

      Supplies:
        Cardstock: Stampin' Up!
Patterned paper: Die Cuts With A View
        Sticker: SRM Stickers
Die cuts: Cricut Expression with A Child's Year cartridge
        Flowers: Prima
        Glitter: Stickles
        Other: floss

Don't forget to get in on the chance to win the Fun Giveaway I have going on right now.  You could win some yummy SRM stickers.....CLICK HERE to check out the details.  I will be drawing a winner one week from today.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Caring Thoughts Card And My New Craft Table

I have been busy with so many things this week, I haven't had much scrapping time.  I do have a couple of things to share with you today.  First up is this card that I made a couple of weeks ago.....

I used my Cricut with Freshly Picked and Sweethearts cartridges.  I added a little texture to the planter with my bone folder and then inked it up.  That fab sentiment is from SRM Stickers.

We must have spring fever around here because we have been purging and cleaning like crazy.  I also have some fun news.....my scrapping table is all done!!  WooHoo!!  Here is what it looks like now.  I still need to fill the shelves, which will be no problem for me ;) and I was thinking of stenciling on the lighter colored spaces or something.....what do you think??

We modified plans from Ana White for my table.  It took my husband about 3 days to put it together and it took me a little over a day to paint it all.

I am going to get some stuff done and get those shelves filled.  Don't forget I have a little giveaway going on....CLICK HERE to find out how to enter.

Valentine's Day With A Heart Bouquet

Hello everyone!!  I hope that you are having a very pleasant Valentine's Day with your loved ones.  My husband is out of town, so I am spending the day with my kids.  We exchanged sweet little Valentine's and we are having their favorite dinner.....Spaghetti.  We are also having a movie marathon.  I have a little break and thought I would share with you what I made for my hubby.  He was saying how he would like to have some updated pictures of the kids for his desk and since I took some new photos of them last week, I thought it would be fun to make a heart bouquet for him.

I used my Sweethearts cartridge and my Cricut to make the hearts (and even to cut the photos into heart shapes).  The sticks are just bamboo skewers from my kitchen and the glass container is from a candle.....it has been sitting around my house waiting for another use for a few years now.....it was too pretty to throw away.  I dressed it up with some SRM stickers and ribbon.  Those fab little pebbles inside are the "skittles" that were so popular a year or two ago.  I dyed some of them with some alcohol ink and used them to fill up my glass container.

So, tell me, how are you celebrating the day??

Remember, if you go over and follow the fabulous SRM blog and then come back here and leave a comment on any post that you are following the SRM blog, I will put your name in for some blog candy that I will draw for on March 1st.  I will get a picture posted this week of the goodies that are up for grabs for helping me out (and maybe it will motivate you a little more {wink}).  Thanks to everyone that has already helped me out with this....I am keeping track and have you entered.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Fun Notebook With April Showers Cart & A New Sketch

I am so ready for the spring to come and warm us up.....we have been having below average temperatures and I am ready to thaw out.  I received the April Showers cartridge from ScrapbookPal and for my first project this month on the ScrapbookPal blog, I thought that it would be fun to do a bright and happy notebook as a gift for a loved one (or maybe even for me).  Here's how to re-create this notebook:

You will need:
-5 x 7 notebook
-Cricut and April Showers cartridge
-Patterned paper to use on the notebook cover (mine is from Echo Park)
-cardstock in various colors to match your patterned paper (I used Bazzill and Stampin' Up!)
-ribbon (I used Stampin' Up! and Creating Keepsakes ribbon)
-twine
-Signo Uni-ball White Gel Pen
-Crop-A-Dile

Let's get started:
  • Cover your notebook with the patterned paper.  I carefully took out the spiral wire and then adhered my paper to the cover.  I then used my Crop-A-Dile to punch the holes out.  You can easily see where the holes need to be punched from the back side of the cover.  Put the book back together with the spiral binding.
  • Using your Cricut and April Showers cartridge, cut the house (2 3/4 inches), tree (2 1/4 inches), and cloud (1 1/4 inches) and their corresponding layers and adhere the layers together.  Cut the solid banner at 1 1/2 inches in two different colors and cut some of the flags off of one to layer onto the other.
  • Using a Signo Uni-Ball White Gel Pen, draw lines or stitches to accent the cuts.
  • Add the cuts onto a 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 inch piece of white cardstock.  You can add strips of green cardstock that you have snipped into one side with some scissors to resemble grass at the bottom of your cuts.  Layer the white cardstock onto a 3 1/4 x 4 3/4 inch piece of colored cardstock and tie the a ribbon around the pieces near the bottom.
  • Center and adhere the cardstock to the notebook cover
  • Adhere the banner in the top right corner as shown in the picture.  Use a little twine if you would like to go across the top of the flags.
  • Tie various colors of ribbons along the spiral binding.  Staple some tabs to the inside pages (I used a punch for mine, but you can just cut a rectangle and fold it in half if you want).

Here is the sketch I created for this cover, but you can use it for a card if you would like.  If you do decide to use this sketch, leave a comment here so that I can come and see.
If you are a member of facebook, hop on over to the ScrapbookPal facebook page to check out the fun crafting contest they have going on right now.  "Like" their page and upload a craft project and you can have a chance to win a Cricut cartridge or a Tombow dispenser and 6 refills.

Hedgie Love with SRM

Today I get to post my first project as a member of the design team to the SRM blog.  Here is my card....a little hedgie love for Valentine's Day (please read to the end because I am itching to give something away) ;) .....

I created this card with the We've Got Your Sticker #53003 - Sweet sticker sheet.  The hedgies were cut with my Cricut and Give A Hoot cartridge and the heart was cut with the Lyrical Letters cartridge.  I also used my Cuttlebug and Heart Blocks embossing folder to emboss and sandpaper to distress the Core'dinations cardstock in the background.

I would really appreciate it if you would hop on over to the SRM blog and leave a little love for me over there on my introduction post.   While you are there, would you also consider signing up to follow the SRM blog??  You won't be sorry because there is always fresh and inspiring projects up all week long from a wonderfully talented design team.  I want to show them how awesome my blog friends are because there is a little competition going on.......there is something in it for me, but there is also something in it for one of you.  I will pick something in my HUGE stash of goodies to sent to one random participant......so, who wants to help out??  You just need to sign up as a follower over there and come back here to let me know that you are following the SRM Stickers blog on any post here.  This is going to be so much fun because I know that you are all the BEST in my book!!  ;)  I will pick a winner from all participants on March 1st.

Also, don't forget that I will have "My Favorite Things" giveaway when I reach 1000 followers/subscribers.....I am only about 42 away.......

Remember.........

Whew!!  What a week I have had.  Last night and all day today my baby has been quite sick and pretty much stuck to mom.  I always feel so bad when my babies are sick....especially my littlest one because she doesn't understand the concept of being sick.  I have also been taking care of so many DT projects lately.  I will get to share them with you in a little bit.

I took a little break from doing design team work to make a card for CPS sketch 203.  I rotated the sketch for my card.  I stamped with acrylic paint onto fabric.....it was messy, but fun and I love the texture.  I was quite happy with it until my dear husband told me that this is the first card that I have made that looks like it was done by a child.  =(

What do you think??

Here is a little bit of a close up:

I even completed the inside of the card with the rest of the sentiment from the newly released SRM Stickers:

      Supplies:
        Cardstock, stamp, ink: Stampin' Up!
        Stickers: SRM Stickers
Die cut label: Cricut Expression with
          Once Upon A Princess cartridge
Other: fabric, thread, needle, raffia, button

Love the kids area! Great idea! It depends on what I am working on whether or not I like crafting with friends or not. If I am just crafting on cards and other projects, I love doing it with friends. But, if I am working on my scrapbooks I do better if I don't chat the whole time. I tend to talk more than actually craft. :) Thanks for the chance to win! I love what all you have done.
