Blog Hop with The Twinery and Epiphany Crafts

Hey everyone!!  Welcome back for another super fun blog hop with the The Twinery!!  This week we are hoping along with Epiphany Crafts.  If this is your first stop, hop on over to The Twinery blog to start at the beginning and to get all of the details.

I have never used Epiphany Crafts products before, but I must say that I am totally addicted to making these super fun epoxy shapes.  My kids thought it was really awesome, too.  I created this cute bracelet and a tag to go along with it (I was really hoping to cut a gift box on my Cricut to go along with it, but I ran out of time during the busy holiday weekend).

The bracelet was made with the Metal Settings from Epiphany Crafts I threaded them together with some of the Honeydew and Blossom bakers twine from The Twinery.  I also added some beads in between the metal settings.

The papers that I used on both the tag and the bracelet are Victoria Gardens from Echo Park.  The tag was cut on my Cricut from the Bridal Shower cartridge.  I tied some more of the Honeydew and Blossom bakers twine to the top of the tag and around by the flowers.

The flowers and leaves are all cut with my Cricut and the Flower Shoppe cartridge.  I wrinkled them all up and then shaped them and added another of the fun epoxy circles to the middle of the big flower.

I do apologize for the poor lighting....we had a very rainy weekend and I couldn't get better shots.  I hope that you have enjoyed my post for today.  Don't forget to check out all the other designers on the hop today, be sure to leave comments to be eligible to win this AWESOME prize pack (Details on The Twinery Blog):

Here is the blog hop order:

Have fun and good luck!!

Kitty Notebook and Tutorial with Peachy Keen Stamps

Hello Friends and Happy Memorial Day!!  Scroll down because this is my second post for the day......Today it is my turn to share on the Peachy Keen Stamps blog and so I am sharing with you a cute kitty notebook and a tutorial on how I alter spiral bound notebooks.

First thing you need to do is to remove the spiral binding.  You do this by using a pair of round nosed pliers and carefully bend the wire at both ends so that you can twist it off.  Be careful to keep all the papers together so that you don't have to try and get all the holes to line up at the end.  Set the papers and back cover aside.

Next,  you want to measure the front cover.  I usually replace the notebook cover because lately I can only find them in plastic and the papers don't stick too well to them.  I have a huge stack of chipboard that I bought at some clearance center that I use.  Don't toss the front cover, you need it as a template.  I measure the original cover and then use a heavy duty paper trimmer to trim the new front cover to fit exactly.

I then cut out my cute little kitty with my Cricut and the Meow Lite cartridge.  I used the new Here Kitty Kitty Face Assortment from Peachy Keen Stamps to add an adorable face to my kitty.  I then used a pen and chalk to add some details to the face.  The label that I have the kitty on is from Elegant Edges.  I added some pen stitching to it.

I then added some fun patterned paper to the front cover (with the same measurements that I had when I cut the chipboard cover.  I add a little pen stitching around the edges of that as well.

Now take your original cover and use it as a template to make the holes in the left side of the front cover.  I used a pencil to outline all the holes and then punched them out with a good hole punch.

All that is left is to re-assemble the notebook and add a name to the front.  I chose my daughter because she loves notebooks and kitties, so this is the best of both worlds for her.  I can't wait to give it to her.

Here is a close up of that adorable little kitty face......so darn cute!!

Thanks for stopping by!!  Don't forget that there is an amazing sale going on over at the Peachy Keen Stamps website through tomorrow.......hurry over before it ends!!

Amy

Scrappy Monday Layout with My Creative Time

Hello and welcome back to another fun day with My Creative Time.  Today a new Scrappy Monday Layout Challenge is starting and the challenge is to use one picture and incorporate buttons.  It has been a while since I shared a complete layout and I hope you can be inspired by this one.....
My grandmother just celebrated her 80th birthday and so I created this layout with a picture of my family with her on her special day.  I made a cake for her with my Cricut Cake machine, too, that I will share with you later.

On my layout, I used several items from My Creative Time.......I used the Flower Petal Dies, Build A Banner Kit, XL Label Die, Whimsical Calendar Days, and Script Type Background on the flowers and banner.  The papers are from Fancy Pants Designs and I cut the large circle with my Cricut and Cricut Essentials cartridge.
Above my banner, I added some braided bakers twine from The Twinery.  The title is foam Thickers from American Crafts and Tiny Type Alphabet from Cosmo Cricket.  I really love the way that this layout turned out.  These colors together are so fun and happy.....I think I will have to display it on my scrapping room for a while.

I hope that this layout inspires you to pull out some pictures and get scrapping.  I also hope that you will hop on over to the My Creative Time blog to check out what the other designers have done for this challenge and to play along with us.

Hugs,
Amy

The nuts are cut from the Robot party cartridge and my Cricut onto some metallic cardstock from DCWV.

Here is what you can win for hopping along with us today and tomorrow:

May Release Blog Hop with My Creative Time

Yay!!  Here we are at the end of the new release week with My Creative Time.  So, tell me, have you been inspired by all the FABULOUS ideas from the design team all week long??  I know that I have.  We are having a blog hop today that starts at the My Creative Time blog, if you haven't yet and also check to see if you are one of the winners from the project showcase this week.

Today I have a fun shadowbox frame to share with you that uses the new Celebrate Good Times stamp and die set.

Isn't this fun?!?  I think it will be perfect for an ice cream lover.  I used the ice cream dies and "Ice cream = Happiness!" from the Celebrate Good Times set that is available now over in the My Creative Time store.  I cut the large labels out with my Cricut and Once Upon A Princess cartridge.  After adding some pen stitching, I punched some holes in both sides and then added some yummy bakers twine from The Twinery.  To get the glossy look on the chocolate, I coated the dark brown cut outs with some Glossy Accents from Ranger.

I added some foam adhesive under the cuts to raise them off of the background for dimension.  I found this frame on sale at my local Michaels for an awesome price.  Did you know that all of the NEW RELEASES for this month are on sale through midnight tonight??  Hurry over and pick up your favorite set (or two, or three).  So, I would love to know which of my projects this week was your favorite.  =)

May Release Week with MCT ~ Day 4

How are you all doing today??  Have you been enjoying the releases so far this week at My Creative Time??  I have another fun project to share with you today.  It is a simple layout done with the awesome new Celebrate Good Times stamp and die set.  I thought it would be fun to quickly throw together a layout to show you how wonderfully these sets can work with layouts.
I used the Celebrate Good Times set to die cut the cupcake and stamp the sentiment next to it.  For my cupcake, I added some chunky glitter and also some glossy accents to the cherry. I added a little dimension to the title and cupcake with some dimensional adhesive.
I added some stitching and embossing with my Cuttlebug.  The title is cut with my Cricut and Phrases cartridge.

May Release Week with My Creative Time ~ Day 3

Welcome back for another Release Week Project with My Creative Time!!  Today I have a mini card to show you that uses the new Fun Pockets stamp and die set along with the new Tag Dies.

For my card, I used the Tag Dies to cut this mini card.  I folded the cardstock that I wanted to cut in half and then placed it just below the top cut line on the die to make a card.  I then stamped the fun sun image from the Fun Pockets stamp set onto the cardstock and colored it in with my colored pencils.  I added some Ranger Glossy Accents over the stamped and colored image to make it shine.

For the pocket, I die cut it with the fun dies in the Fun Pockets stamp and die set out of blue cardstock.  I then stamped this cardstock with a denim background stamp that I have had for ages with a slightly darker blue ink.  I then adhered it to my card over some burlap and seam binding from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique. I finished off the card with the stamped sentiment from the Fun Pockets stamp and die set, some brads on the pocket and a strip of matching paper at the top of the card.  So, what do you think??

May Release Week Day 2 With My Creative Time

Welcome back for the second day of inspiration with the release of My Creative Time's new stamps and dies.  Today I have a card to share with you that uses the Here's Lookin' At You stamp and die kit from My Creative Time.
My card measures 4 inches by 9 inches.  The sentiment, hat die and tie die are from this super cute set called Here's Lookin' At You.  I used the mustache and glasses dies from the What's Growin' On stamp and die set that we showcased yesterday on the My Creative Time blog.
The eyes are stamped from the April Kit of the Month from Peachy Keen Stamps.  I stitched around the white cardstock near the border and then added some dimensional adhesive to the cuts for a little pop and dimension on the card.
See that fab yellow twine that I tied on my card, well, that comes from the new boutique that my fellow design team member, Liz from Liz's Paper Loft has opened up.  You should really go and check out all the fab trim she has available.

Denim Flower Notebook with Jinger Adams

Hey friends!!  So many things going on today, but I just wanted to pop in and share a project that I made for Jinger Adams to take and share with a local show earlier this week.  She asked the design team to create anything with flowers in all different sorts of material, so I made this fun notebook with denim flowers......
Those sweet little flowers are cut with My Creative Time's Rolled Flower Die.  It didn't cut all the way through on some areas of the flower because of how thick the denim is, so I just used a small pair of scissors to finish the cut.  I then rolled them up and added some hot glue to hold them together.  The "notes" was cut with my Cricut machine and the bakers twine is from The Twinery.  Here is a close-up:

I would love it if you hopped on over to Jinger's blog and left a little love for me there under the post with my project.....she is giving away a paper stack from DCWV for all the comments left under the Denim Flower Notebook post on her blog.

Also, don't forget to check out the projects made by the other designers there....there were so many great ideas shared.  Jinger will be having giveaways under them all for the next week or so.  Here is a video of Jinger's appearance on Studio 5. Can you spot my notebook?

I am linking this up at Card Creations Week: Gingham Challenge over at Moxie Fab World.

Hugs,
Amy

Here is how I made this project:
MATERIALS:

Spiral bound notebook
Patterned paper
White paper
Black Die cut letters or stickers
Lightweight denim
Flower die
Manual die cut machine
Sewing machine and thread
Bakers twine
adhesive

DIRECTIONS:

Measure your notebook and cut a piece of patterned paper to fit the front, leaving a little room at the spine for the wire. Sew around patterned paper using black thread and a sewing machine. Die cut 5 denim flowers with a flower die and your die cut machine and glue together with hot glue. Adhere to the front of your notebook with hot glue. Add white cardstock strips and black letters to spell out "notes." Tie bakers twine around the patterned paper just under the denim flowers. Adhere all to the front cover of your notebook.

I also added some stitching with my sewing machine and finished it off with some hemp twine and a button.
