A quick wedding card....

I went to my cousins wedding reception last weekend and had about 15 minutes to put a card together to add to the gift. The product that I used was DCWV - metallic cardstock stack, Stampin Up - stamp and embossing powder and the ribbon was just some leftover in my stash....I think it was some I got from Joann's at one point or another. The circle was cut out with the cricut using the George cartridge at 1 inch. I used the cuttlebug from Provo Craft to emboss the metallic cardstock. I have had the cuttlebug and many embossing folders for a while now, but for some reason, I forget that I have it. It is a great little machine and it makes it really easy to put really deep embossing in cardstock and paper. For making a card so fast (I don't think I have done a card in less than 30 minutes before), I really like the way it turned out.

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful holiday season.

Here are some projects that I got finished just in time to give them as gifts. I made these candles with pictures printed on regular computer paper and wrapped them around the candles and put wax paper tightly around the candle and pictures. I then used my heat gun to 'melt' the wax into the paper. You can see the wax seep into the paper. After it was all darkened by the wax, I peeled off the wax paper and this is what it produced. It is a picture of all of my mothers grandchildren with her mother (my grandmother). I made one for her and one for my grandmother. I decorated them with a little bit of paper wrapped around it and some raffia embellishment, tied in a bow. I placed them in glass candle holders and gave them as Christmas presents.

Here are some mini CD albums that I created with my Bind-It-All by Zutter. This is a very handy tool when you want to bind albums or calendars together. I used Making Memories 6x6 Embellishment Paper packs to cover the CD's and cut the circles with my cricut by Provo Craft and the George cartridge. I also cut the letters for FAMILY out of chipboard with the cricut (multicut feature on the Expression) and the Plantain School Book cartridge. The stamps that I used are all from Fancy Pants Designs. They were very fun to make, but they were a little time consuming because I sanded all of the circles to fit the CD's perfectly and give it a little bit of a distressed look. I made 4 total (2 of each design).

I am a member of the 2008 Design Team for Apron Strings!!

I am excited to be a new member of the 2008 Design team. I have been getting beautiful kits from them for a year and a half now. You should click here: http://www.apronstringsdesigns.com/ to go to their website and check out their kits. They have two differnt size kits and you get everything you need to complete 3-4 two page layouts. They also have a yahoo group that I chat with and they have challenges that are running all the time to help you get your LO's done. I am looking forward to next year with all the wonderful possiblities of being on this design team and getting many LO's done throughout the year.

Snowman Soup

I hope that everyone is having a great holiday season. It has been super busy here between sick kids and people coming in to town to visit us. I have also been making a few things as gifts. One of my favorite things to do in the wintertime is to cuddle up by the fire with a mug of hot cocoa. Here is one that I made to give to friends and neighbors. It is called snowman soup and you get together a packet of hot cocoa, 3 Hershey's kisses, about 15 marshmallows, and a candy cane and wrap it all up in a mug with a little poem attached. The stamps set that I used is Snow Friends from Close to my Heart. Here is my version of Snowman Soup.....
