A Country Thank You - For the Reject Pile

I haven't had too many projects published....my first time was in the first edition of the Cricut Magazine and I have a couple of projects going into the Birthday Idea Book.  I was totally elated to have any of my work published in a magazine.  To be published, you need to submit, submit, and submit some more.  Not all of the projects you submit will be picked up for publication and here is one of mine.  Now, don't get me wrong...I ♥ this card and was really hoping it was going to be picked up....so it really isn't going into a literal reject pile.  The call was for the August or September edition of the Cricut Magazine and they were looking for cards created with the Freshly Picked cartridge.  I used that cartridge to cut the overalls on this card.
      Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampin' Up! (kraft, cream, pink), Coredinations (blue)
Die cuts: Cricut with Freshly Picked cartridge
        Ribbon: Stampin' Up!
        Stamp: Stampin' Up!
        Flowers: Prima
Embossing: Cuttlebug with Heritage embossing folders
        Lace: Offray
        Ink: Stampin' Up!
        Brads: Making Memories
        Other: hemp twine

Tell me, have you submitted any of your creations to a magazine yet??  Which magazines??  Where any of your projects picked up for publication??  Please share.....I would even love to see your rejected projects....

  3. Hey, just because they didn't pick it up doesn't mean it's fit for the reject pile. I think it's adorable!!!

  4. I just submitted my first bunch of LOs to Scrapbook News and Reviews. I really liked their on-line submission process, and their calls are really clear and easy to find. Now it's fingers crossed time :)

  6. Your card is absolutely wonderful! Can't imagine why it wasn't picked but hey it's their loss right?

I've submitted a few cards for publication but have yet to have any picked up. Although I have had a couple mentioned in the Chirp and that's exciting too.....or least it was for me. lol

  12. Congrats on being published Amy!! You make great cards!!

I had a couple of cards published in CardMaker magazine, but then stopped submitting after I had LOTS for the reject pile!

I have 3 cards in the current Cricut Magazine and some cards in the next few issues. Yay!

I am sometimes surprised when I submit 3 or 4 cards and they pick my least favorite of the ones I submit. lol. Who knows how they decide, I just keep submitting. :)

Here is something interesting - I resubmitted previously rejected cards for a different issue, and they were picked up the second time around. If you really love a card, submit it a couple of times if it fits the criteria!
