Birthday card

I have a hard time coming up with ideas for more masculine birthday cards. I have a tendency to make cards with more of a feminine feel. I was looking through my Stampin Up Spring-Summer 2008 catalog for ideas and saw a card similar to this one and decided to make my own version. The cardstock, the "happy birthday" stamp, and ribbon are all from Stampin Up. The brads are from Making Memories. I used my cricut and the Celebrations cartridge to cut the candles. I put some stickles glitter glue on the tops of the candles to add a little glitter. Thanks for looking!!

Using the Bazzill In Stitch'z on a LO

I bought the Bazzill In Stitch'z kit from HSN a couple of months ago and used it on this LO as the vines and leaves for the flowers on the left and the bottom right side. I really like what it added to the LO. The cardstock is Bazzill and the patterned paper and stickers are from Chatterbox. I bought some loose flowers from the local scrapbook store, and I am not sure what the brand of them are. The font for Our Family is cut with the cricut with the Tear Drop cartridge. I just got this cart a couple of months ago and haven't used it until this LO and I really like it. I don't know what pictures I will put on it, but maybe this summer I will have some to put on there, or maybe after our new little bundle arrives.

This is a close up of the left side with the stitching. It wasn't that hard to do, but it was a little time consuming.....kind of like doing a cross stitch project. In the kit there was a paper piercer, but you could use one you already might have. I liked the size of the piercing mat and they have quite a variety of templates to use. I only have the ones that came with the set, but I have my eyes open for more because it was fun and it added a lot to the LO.

Cards I have been working on.....

Here are some of the cards that I have been working on over the last couple of weeks. The first ones are the Mothers Day cards that I made for my mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. I used my cuttlebug for the embossing and I used Stampin Up for the cardstock, inks and stamps. The paper and cotton ribbon strip is from Imagination Project.

The second set of cards are just some simple ones that I made to give with some banana bread to our neighbors for helping out with some spring cleaning in our yard. I used Stampin Up for the cardstock, the cuttlebug embossing folders, prima flowers, and the center of the flowers is a clear decorative accent that the cricut message board has started calling skittles. The Thanks is cut with the cricut from the Cuttin Up cartridge.

The next card is one that I made for my husband for his birthday. I just used some scraps from my stash of paper (the patterned paper is Stampin Up and the cardstock is both Stampin Up - white and Bazzill - blue and brown) and embellishments. I used the cricut and the Animal Kingdom cartridge to cut out the moose. The Happy Birthday stamps are just some that I have and I am not sure of the name brand.

Thanks for viewing!!
