Happy Birthday To My Little Man!!

Today is my little boy's birthday and we had a fun filled day.  Swimming, cake baking (and eating), card making, going out for pizza, opening presents, and blowing out candles made the day special for my little boy.  I also let my kids pick out their meals for the day on their birthdays......and my little man picked pancakes and sausage for breakfast, peanut butter and jelly with a cup of yogurt for lunch and pizza for dinner.  He also requested that I make him a card with a car on it and so I got busy making this fun card for him.  I used Sketch 233 from CPS for this card.  The car image is from the Nate's ABC's cart and my Cricut Expression.

The patterned paper is from Bella Blvd and the the sentiments are SRM Stickers.  I also added some black  Pearl Pens to the wheels.

Don't forget to scroll down and see who the winner is from the My Craft Spot blog hop is.  Thanks for stopping by!!

My Craft Spot Fall Release Party Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog and the My Craft Spot blog hop!!  I am so glad that you are joining us and I hope that you are gathering some wonderful inspiration from each of  my fellow and very talented design team members.  How have you liked the new stamp release??  Aren't they fabulous??  Did you see the wonderful projects that have been shared all this week on the My Craft Spot blog featuring the new stamps??  If you haven't, hop back to the My Craft Spot blog after you have completed the hop and scroll through all of the posts for the week to see lots of eye candy.

I have two projects to share with you today plus a giveaway.  This first one is a card made with the Candy Corn Kisses stamp set that you can have a chance to win by leaving a comment on this post (details below).  I used the Wrap It Up cartridge to cut out the witch image and Elegant Edges for the green label.  I embossed the label with my Cuttlebug and inked it with some black ink.

I used some Stickles glitter glue to add sparkle to the witch's dress and hat.  The sentiment is from the new Candy Corn Kisses stamps and I finished it off with some of the yummy crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot.  (the purple glitter really is closer to the color of the ribbon, but the shine on the glitter in the photos makes it look a little different)

Next up is a project with the new Happy Fall! stamp set.  I thought that it would be fun to make some place cards for my family this Thanksgiving.  I used the Thanksgiving Season cartridge to cut the tags and the turkeys, corn, and hats.  The letters for the names are cut from the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge.

I inked up the cuts and then layered them on top of a green-matted cream colored piece of cardstock.  I then added some stitching with a brown pen.  The "give thanks" is stamped from the lovely Happy Fall! stamp set.  Here is a close-up of the place card I made with my name at a place setting just waiting for me to be seated........

Here is the list of the design team member's blogs along the blog hop.  If you didn't start at the beginning, hop over there first to get all the details and to see what Kimberly has created and then hop on to each of the other design team members blogs.  Don't forget to leave comments along the way because at every stop, you have the chance to win a new stamp set on each of the blogs, courtesy of Kimberly at My Craft Spot.

Harvest Blessings Card - My Craft Spot Release Party

Happy Wednesday!!  It is the middle of the week and today is the third day of the fun Release Party at My Craft Spot.  Have you been checking in to see all the wonderful projects and the fab projects done with the new stamps this week??  Today, I have a card to share with you that uses the new Happy Fall! stamp set that is being previewed today at My Craft Spot.  I used my Cricut and Gypsy Wanderings to cut the card shape and Country Life to cut the images and the lovely "Harvest" and "Blessings" stamps from the great Happy Fall! stamp set.

I used hearts instead of the apples on the tree and in the basket (which actually had a washboard, but I cut that part off).  I added some pen stitching to the background and I used glossy accents on the hearts and tied it all up with some yummy chocolate crinkle ribbon and twine and then finished it up with a cherry red button.
The texture on the grass and on the tree, I added with a small tipped stylus.

Hop on over to see what fab projects the other design team members created with this stamp set on the My Craft Spot blog.  Kimberly will also have another prize she is giving away today and a chance to get a bonus entry if you want to add the Release Party button to your blog.....

Hello Friend - New Lawn Fawn Stamps

I just love inking up a new set of stamps for the first time and when I got this lovely Critters in the Forest stamp set from Lawn Fawn, I did just that.....although, the very first images I colored from this set will be shared later on another project, I inked up the cute little owl, log, and dragonfly again last night to use on this card for the Lawnscaping Challenge #16 One Layer Magic and CAS-ual Fridays CFC16 - Embossing.  This is my first time entering these two challenges, although, I have been watching them for a little while.  ;)

The images are colored with Copic markers and the sentiment is from SRM Stickers.  I embossed the bottom of the card with my cuttlebug and then painted over it with some green acrylic paint.  After it was dry, I sanded the embossed area for the fun polka dotted look.  For the dragonfly, I added some glitter to the wings and drawn stitches behind it.  For the owl, I added some fun wiggle eyes.  I finished off the card by adding some hemp twine and a button.

Here are the two challenges for this card:

Have a great day and thanks for your lovely comments....they make my day!!

Hugs,
Amy

Monster Treat Bags

Good Morning!!  Today is the first day of the My Craft Spot release party!!  I am so excited to get to share with you a project that I created with the new Candy Corn Kisses stamp set that is debuting on the My Craft Spot blog today.  I used my Cricut and the Mini Monsters cart to cut out these really cute monster bags and then filled them with Tootsie Rolls.

I embossed the bellies and arms with the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder in my Cuttlebug.  I then added some handles with some black chenille stems and some white pen stitching detail (hint: draw the stitches before you put the bag together......I didn't and it was kind of hard to do afterwards).

I finished it off with a stamped tag stamped from the new Candy Corn Kisses stamp set and some of the new Grape Fizz Purple bakers twine.....

Hop on over to the My Craft Spot blog to see what the other designers have done with this new stamp set and be sure to leave a comment over there to win a prize.  She will be giving prizes away each day this week!!

Don't forget to add the Release Party button to your blog so that you can get an extra entry each day.  I will have another project to share with you on Wednesday and then there will be a fun blog hop with the My Craft Spot design team and you will have a chance win a set from the new releases.....so, check back!!

A Little Birdie Friend

Happy Weekend!!  I don't know about you, but I hope to get some crafting done this weekend, starting with this fun card I created with sketch 231 at CPS and the PDCC95 colors.  I used some stamps from Taylored Expressions along with a sentiment sticker from SRM Stickers.  The stars are clear embossed on the white cardstock and then I inked with some navy blue ink around all the edges inward and wiped the blue off of the embossed stars.  I didn't really like how the stars weren't standing out so much, so I also drew lines around them to help them stand out a little bit more.

Here is a close-up of the stamped and embossed images:

Here are the challenges I am using on this card:

Now, I really need to clean up my scrapping table......I have had a whole lot going on over the last couple of weeks and it looks like a wreck!!  Haha!!

Hugs,
Amy

Beach Themed Party Ideas with Cricut and SRM Stickers

I have lots of stuff to share with you today.  Do any of you remember a few months ago I mentioned that I was invited to be a guest designer on the Cricut Circle blog??  How many of you are members of the Cricut Circle and had a chance to see my feature in June??  For those of you who didn't get a chance to see my beach party ideas, I wanted to share them with you today......before the end of summer.  I got to combine the love of my Cricut Expression with the wonderful SRM Stickers for all of the projects below.

Lets start with the invitations......since you won't have a reason for the rest of the stuff if your guests don't know Who, What, Where, When, and Why........

I used the Life's A Beach cartridge to cut the waves, Graphically Speaking for the fish, Create A Critter for the sun, Birthday Cakes for the word  'Party" and Gypsy Wanderings for the label.  The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket and I added some fun stickers from SRM Stickers and accents with Stickles glitter glue.

Next up is the Party Favors to thank the little guests for coming......these fab little tubes are from SRM Stickers......

I used the Life's A Party cartridge to cut the waves and the surfboard and the Create A Critter for the sun.  I embossed the background with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and also sanded the tan cardstock for a sandy look.  I added some Glossy Accents to the surfboard to make it shine and I added some Stickles glitter glue to the wave and sun cuts for some sparkle.  The sentiments are from SRM Stickers.  I tied the tags to the tubes with some twine and decorated the lids with some more SRM Stickers.

I decorated the bottom of the tubes like the bottom of  the tags and filled them up with some Goldfish from Pepperidge Farm.

Next up is some yummy cupcakes with decorated cupcake toppers.  I created an accordion flower and adhere two layered circles to the front of it.  I added some Stickles around the edges and decorated them up with the cute little crab images from Create A Critter.

I added some cute little wiggle eyes to the crabs and then added a sentiment from SRM Stickers under the crabs.  To stand them up in the cupcakes, I used some skewers that I cut down into thirds and adhered them to the topper and slid them into the tops of the cupcakes.

Let's finish off this party with a fun little banner for the birthday boy.......my nephew Tayson.  I just cut several suns from the Create A Critter cartridge, layered them with circles and then stitched around the inside of the circle with some embroidery floss.  I added some letters cut with the Life's A Beach cartridge and accented the sun and letters with some Stickles.  I then tied them all together with some twine and then I finished it off with these cute SRM Stickers

So, what do you think??  Have I inspired you to get creative with your next party??  Which of the projects above is your favorite??  This was a *HUGE* project that I was so happy to do for the Cricut Circle blog.  I am not a member, but I saw tons of inspiring projects over there the little while that I did have access as a guest designer.

I am busy with the starting of school this week and the end of summer activities for our family.  I am not sure how much time I will have to craft this weekend, but I have an exciting week coming up with the new releases at My Craft Spot and a chance to win a prize on my blog.  Come back and check it all out.

Hugs,
Amy

Circut Birthdays Idea Book Winner

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by and left comments for me this week and for letting me know which of my recently published cards was your favorite.  I think that it came out pretty even on which one you all like.

There are many of you who left comments saying that you haven't submitted because you were afraid that your work isn't good enough.....well, I use to think that, too.  I want to encourage you all to try and submit because you never know what they are looking for.  You may submit several items and only have one item picked up for publication, so don't give up!!

If you haven't had a chance to check out the Cricut Magazine and Idea Books by Northridge Publishing, you really should.  The pages and color are exceptional and they have great details on how to re-create the projects showcased.

There is one commenter that will be receiving a copy of the magazine above to check out.  I have gone to Random.org and selected a winner and that lucky person is:

Sweet Baby Gift Bag for My Craft Spot

Good morning!!  I am here today to share a gift bag that I made for the newest challenge at My Craft Spot - Create a Gift Bag or Box.  My bag stands 6 1/4 inches tall and I used the Life's A Party cartridge to cut it out on my Cricut Expression and 12 x 24 inch mat.  I used the Baby Steps cartridge for the images on the front.

Everything is inked with a little bit of Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen.  I added some grass cuts with the Martha Stewart fringe scissors and some white pen details to the baby clothes and butterfly cuts.  The stamped sentiments are from Sweet Sentiments #2 from My Craft Spot.

Along the flap, I added some lace trim around the flap and tied it up with a pretty pink bow with the same ribbon that I used to create the handle.  I added some pink twine by The Twinery from My Craft Spot to the bottom of each handle.

You should hop on over to My Craft Spot to check out what fabulous projects the rest of the DT did with this challenge and the great prize that is up for grabs.  Don't forget that next week is a fun release week at My Craft Spot.  You can click on the button below for all the details (don't forget to add the button below to your own blog.....to get extra entries for some yummy blog candy).
