Laura's Sketch 18 at 2s4y and How about some Blog Candy!?!

First, here is my card for Laura's sketch 18 at 2sketches4you.....you can see the sketch HERE. I loved working with this sketch and I have a few other ideas of cards I want to make with it. I also saw on the caardvarks website that they had a challenge using polka dots and so I based the papers (background) on their challenge. I picked up two of these adorable House Mouse stamps (see giveaway below) and these Stampin' Up! papers and wanted to use them on a card and this is what I created.

Cardstock, patterned paper, ribbon, oval punch, scallop edge punch, metal embellishments, sentiment, embossing powder: Stampin' Up!
Stamp: House Mouse
Ink: StazOn
MCPT and Prismacolor pencils
Nestabilities (circle and scallop circle)
thread & sewing machine
glitter glue

Heidi's Bonus Sketch at 2sketches4you

Here is a card that I finally had time to complete. I had this idea in my head for a good two weeks before I had a chance to get it made into a card. I love this little owl set and when I saw Heidi Van Laar's card a couple of weeks ago on 2sketches4you, I knew I had to make a card with her sketch and this stamp set. Everything except the green ribbon tag are from Stampin' Up!. The ribbon came from my ribbon scrap jar. I use the MCPT to color in the little owls and the branch.

Kazan's Sketch 9 at 2s4y

Well, another day has about gone by, but I haven't had my baby yet. I am in labor right now and hope to have my new baby in my arms tomorrow. I was able to get the sketch card done for the challenge this week over at 2sketches4you. Here my take on this week's sketch. I used Stampin Up for the cardstock and the happy birthday stamps.....the bunny image is House Mouse and colored with the MCPT and prismacolor pencils. I raised the stamped image with foam adhesive. I am not sure of the patterned paper (it is leftovers in my stash) and the ribbon is some I bought from QVC and don't know the brand. I applied Stickles Glitter Glue to the stamped image.

Laura's Sketch 7 at 2s4y and Birthday card for my son

This is the card I designed for the challenge over on 2sketches4you this week. The cardstock is Stampin Up (green and white) and Bazzill (the burgundy color).....the patterned paper is chatterbox. The bunny image is House Mouse and the "find joy in the little things" is from Stampin Up as well as the little felt flower and the brad in the middle of the flower is by Making memories. I also used a Stampin Up spiral punch for the punches down the side. For the stitching, I used my Bazzill In Stitch'z. I used my prismacolor pencils to color in the image with the MCPT.

I made this card for my little boy's birthday......today he turns 3. I can't believe that he is already 3 years old. This card is based upon the bonus sketch last week by Ingrid at 2s4y. I used the sketch for a card earlier last week for my nephew, but I liked the sketch so much and I just pictured this card with the same sketch. It matches the wrapping paper I used for his gift. The cardstock and stamps are by Stampin Up and the patterned paper is from The Paper Loft. I used my oval nestabilities to cut the ovals around the space ship.

Bonus card sketch from 2s4y

Here is the card that I created from the bonus sketch by Ingrid over at 2sketches4you. It is a quick card that I made for my nephew's birthday. The stamp is from Stampin Up with the MCPT and my prismacolor pencils. All the papers and cardstock are from my scrap pile. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the circles on the dark blue cardstock.

With Sympathy Card

My mother asked if I could make up a quick Sympathy card for a distant relative and this is what I put together for her. I really like the way it turned out. I am not exactly sure what the papers and cardstock are because they came out of my scrap pile. The stamps are Stampin Up and I colored in the flower with my prisma colored pencils and the MCPT (Gamsol Technique), the embossing is done with my cuttlebug and I chalked it with my Stampin Up pastels to help it pop more on the card. I used the Fiskars Threading Water punch for the scallops along the side and stiched around the image.

Apronstrings Designs July 2008 kit

These are the pages and cards that I created for the design team in July 2008 for Apronstrings Designs. This is the Smaller than a Bread Box kit and I really liked working with these papers . With the designing of these kits, we are to create at least 3 2-page layouts and a card or tag with the scraps. We are to use only what is in the kits (except for stamps and die cutting machines). This kit is still available (but they do sell out of their kits, so hurry over if you want to pick one of them up. They also have the August kits available for sale to those without the auto-ship. They are such wonderful kits, I told them to send them both to me because I couldn't decide which one I wanted more.

On the above kit the papers are from KaiserCraft, the cardstock is Bazzill, the ribbon buckle is 7 Gypsies, the brads are Doodlebug, and the flowers are Heidi Swapp. I used my cricut with the Opposites Attract and Plantain Schoolbook cartridge to cut the titles. I also used a Stampin Up stamp on the tag.

With this kit above, the patterned papers are by gcd studios, the cardstock is Bazzill, the black trim is Doodlebug, and the chipboard scrolls and sheer scallop journaling card are Maya Road. I used my cricut and Opposites Attract cartridge to cut the title and Stampin Up for the stamped image on the card (with the MCPT - Gamsol Technique to color it in) and the lines for the journaling on the yellow patterned paper. I am not sure what stamps are used for the bracket and the flower (I am thinking they are from my 7 Gypsy's set, but I am not sure).

For this last kit, I used patterned papers from Dream Street, cardstock is Bazzill, the metal tab is 7 Gypsies, the ribbon and assorted clear droplets are Carolee’s Creations, the stamp set I used for Happy Birthday is from Stampin Up and I cut out the title with my cricut and Cuttin Up cartridge.

Laura's Sketch 6 at 2 Sketches 4 You

I have been gone most of the week and so I finally got a chance to sit down and work up this card for the challenge over at 2 sketches 4 you. This week it is one of Laura's sketches. Here is my take and the sketch it is based on below.....

The product that I used is mostly from my scrap pile. I used Stampin Up for the happy birthday stamps and the yellow, blue, and white cardstock. The little piece of green cardstock in the circles is from DCWV. The patterned paper is from Scenic Route and the pink paper that I ran through my cuttlebug and embossed is by Dream Street. The stamped image is from Stamping Bella and I used the gamsol (or MCPT) and my prismacolor pencils to color it in. The ribbon is a spool that I picked up on clearance at Michaels. Enjoy!!

Laura's Sketch 5 at 2 Sketches 4 You

Whew.....I was having problems getting into my blog account and I have been wanting to post this card for the sketch challenge over at 2sketches4you. I was finally able to get into it and post....thanks for the other bloggers out there that figured it was because of the sitemeter counter/code.
For this card, I used Stampin Up for the patterned paper and cardstock and the glaze over the "SWEET" and the glaze over the seeds. The stamp is a House Mouse stamp that I colored in with the Gamsol (MCPT) technique and my prismacolor pencils. I am not sure the brand of the ribbon, it came in a kit from QVC. I cut out the "SWEET" on my cricut and used the Opposites Attract cartridge.

caardvark and BBTB challenges/contest

These are cards that I just finished for Challenge #30 on the caardvarks website. This first one is my version of Laura's sketch. I used the left over papers from the layout I posted this morning. The papers are Bo Bunny, the blue card base is Bazzill Bling and the other cardstock is Stampin Up. The stamp is one of my Stamping Bella stamps....this one is called Snow Bunny Bella......and I used the Magic Color Pencil Technique or Gamsol Technique to color it in. I also added a little bit of Frosted Lace stickles for the white areas on the image for a little bling. For the scallops and oval, I used my nestabilities. I used my cricut and Beyond Birthday's cartridge to cut out the sentiment "you warm my heart." I also applied the stickles to the sentiment.

This second card is based upon Kazan's sketch and I also was inspired for the colors by the contest that Regina is having over on the Bitten By the Bug website. I used K&Co for the papers, Bazzill for the brown cardstock, Stampin Up for the white and green cardstock, the white ribbon, and also the stamped image....which isn't showing up to well in this picture (it reads "If at first you do succeed, try not to look astonished"). The flowers are from Prima, the brad is All My Memories, the brown ric-rac is from CTMH, and I cut the tree image with my cricut and the ZooBalloo cartridge.

Kazan's Sketch 5 at 2 Sketches 4 You

I discovered this wonderful card sketch blog a couple of weeks ago called 2 Sketches 4 You, but I really haven't had a chance to do one of the weekly sketches, until today. I was very inspired by this sketch and I had a few moments and wanted to go and play with my scrapbooking stash, and this is what I came up with. The cardstock, ribbon, stamps, metal accents are all from Stampin Up. The flower is Prima and I used my Prismacolor pencils and the Gamsol or Magic color pencil techinque to color in the stamp.

Coloring in stamped images

I learned a few months ago how to do the Magic Color Pencil Technique (or the Gamsol Technique). It is a technique that you use when you color in stamped images with colored pencils and an odorless mineral spirits. I made these few cards.....more of a masculine feel to them. The stamp set, cardstock, metal embellishments, hemp twine, and twill ribbons are from Stampin Up. I distressed with the dark brown fluid chalk cat's eye ink pad. I use StazOn ink so that the image doesn't smear when I apply the Mona Lisa brand of odorless mineral spirits. The colored pencils that I use are the Prismacolor Premier. You can see a tutorial for the Magic Color Pencil Technique HERE.

A new card and some blog candy for 2500 hits Ü

I recently picked up a couple of these sets of Scrappy Cat stamps and because I have hit 2500 hits on my blog, I would like to give a set away along with an acrylic block from Scrappy Cat and a Xyron 150. If you would like to be entered into the drawing, simply leave me a comment on this post along with your email address so that I can contact you if you are the winner. I will draw on Friday the 27th of June and post the winner on Saturday the 28th. If you don't want to leave your email address, you will have 2 days to check to see if you have won and let me know your contact info so that I can get your prize mailed out to you. If I don't hear from you by the end of the day on the 30th, I will select a new winner and go from there. Good Luck!!

This is a card that I made with this stamp set in the giveaway. I used Stampin Up for the green and white cardstock, the ribbon, and the embossing powder (on the "Summer" at the bottom); Bazzill for the pink cardstock; Versamark for the watermark background. To create the scalloped edge, I used my corner rounder from Stampin Up. I colored the stamped flower with my Prisma colored pencils and Mona Lisa Odorless Mineral Spirits (Gamsol) and I adhered it with pop dots for dimension. Thanks for looking.
